You shove your two heavy suitcases through the door and make a run for the sofa. You sit down heavily with your head outstretched backwards so your neck could rest. That was utterly the worst flight of my life. It shouldn't have been that stressful. You close your eyes for a second trying to regain your composure before Katie comes over and slaps your leg.
"Come on Y/N, get up. We can't sleep now... you know how long it takes us to get ready. You promised me this night out and Sophia will be over in an hour to come and get ready with us too."
"Urgh, what time is?"
"6:17 – Come on now."
I sat up and familiarised myself with Katies lavish apartment. It was very pretty but very white. Minimalist... just how she likes it, I guess. Her apartment has two floors – what type of apartment has that? Oh, just the ones in West London of course. You got up and pulled one of your suitcases to the floor and started to rummage through the soft fabrics to try find an outfit that was not crumpled, didn't smell like aeroplane, and didn't need a wash... you sigh, realising everything was a mess.
-
You pull up to the club in a black cab. Thankfully, Katie had leant you one of her dresses It was a Ted Baker dress that felt like silk and had a lovely swirly pattern on. She swore it was an old dress. But you were not convinced.
You had caught the two girls up on all the drama and everything that had happened over the past two and a half months of shooting - well assisting. You also made it clear to Sophie how thankful you were for this Job.
Sophie gives you a VIP entry wristband just as you got out of the car. The line was long and shock... it was raining. It always rains in England, something you hadn't missed in Venice. You do a prompt speed walk to the front door where the bouncer checks your ID's and head into the club. The three of you get directed to a booth where a bottle of Grey goose vodka surrounded by ice and a bottle of champaign awaits you.
"How much did you pay for all this?" You ask in shock, knowing that booths and drinks packages are crazy expensive.
"Let's just say, when you know the right people, you can get anything at a discounted price!" Sophia winked. We all giggled. I was curious to know what she does for a living as it is something that never came up... but before I could ask, a song came on that the two girls in front of you squealed at, while instantaneously started to dance on the spot. Katie then proceeded to crack open the bottle of Vodka and insisted we all do a shot.
This is going to be a messy night.
-
You were on the dance floor, grooving to the beat with your two friends. The songs were loud and there was a haze in the room from the smoke machine constantly going off on every base drop in a song. But you were actually having a great time. You were nodding your head to the beat and decide to swing your body in one full motion, truly letting yourself go, as you swing you thud into someone.
"Hey, watch where you are going th... "Y/N?"
You opened your eyes - dizzy from the alcohol and the spin you just attempted.
"Harrison!" You gave him a sloppy hug as you had a conversation that was utterly messy and meaningless from how drunk you were. Your attention focuses when Harrison mentions Tom.
"Actually Y/N, you haven't seen Tom anywhere, have you? I lost him about an hour ago?"
You can't really form the words. You haven't seen him you didn't know he was even here, but you wanted to tell Haz that you wanted to see him.
"Never mind Y/N, I'll come find you later! Have a great night."
Realising how drunk you are you, gesture to Katie and Sophia you are going to go get some water. They told you to meet them back at the booth.
You hit body upon body as you scramble your way to the bar to grab a water. The bartender notices your wristband and serves you instantly. You cup the water that's given to you in your hands and slowly turn round to observe which pathway you are going to take back through the crowd to get to the booth.
As you look aimlessly for a route to open up, you notice a toned man with curly hair. You recognise that upper body anywhere as you gasp slightly to yourself at seeing Tom, with his arm fist bumping the air to the music. He was with a load of people you didn't recognise, and you couldn't spot Haz.
Something felt off about the situation. You have no idea what it was, but he just seemed different. You had seen him drunk before but something about this situation just didn't add up. He didn't seem as carefree, in fact more tense and paranoid.
You seen him gaze at his phone with the white bright screen illuminating his face. He nods to his group that he is stepping outside, and you instinctively follow him.
The crisp air meets your face as you step outside adjusting to the temperature. You look around not seeing Tom anywhere. You didn't know what you were expecting to walk out to. Tom on the phone maybe? Taking a serious call.
You notice a figure shadily slipping round the side of the building
You stand there for a moment, contemplating if it was Tom? Stupidly, you decide to follow your gut feeling and head to the outside corner of the club. It couldn't have been more than fifty feet away from the entrance.
You squint your eyes as you try to make out anything in the pitch-black ally. You take a couple of steps forward letting your eyes adjust again. You see a figure stood there, with their back to yours.
"Tom?" You question quietly.
The man is startled, drops his phone on the ground and makes a thud. He quickly picks it up and turns around to look at you. You jump back, getting prepared to kick your heals off and run if the man wasn't Tom.
"Y/N?... w.. what the fuck are doing here? Are you following me?" He said angrily as he takes a few menacing strides towards me. I push myself back onto the side of a dumpster that's to the side of me. He doesn't seem himself; he is salivating almost like a dog. His eyes darting from side to side not focusing on any point of my face particularly. I felt scared this time. Ive never ever felt scared in his presence before.
"You need to get out of here." He grinds his teeth.
I don't say a word. I just stare blankly at him, trying to gage what is going on. I hear voices in the distance.
"Oh shit!" He mutters. My heart starts to race. He grabs me, and pulls me to the wall at the side of the dumpster and pushes me down to the floor.
"Holland?" A croaky sounding man calls out, as Tom looks in his direction, standing up.
"Second time in one night...I was wondering when you were going to call me again bro, I didn't think it was going to be this soon. I got told you were over this 'using nonsense' and went to rehab... but I knew you'd be back – and back for good. I'm glad to be doing business with you again!"
Your heart dropped. Finally, understanding what Tom had been going through that was so secretive.
The man then proceeded to hand Tom a packet containing a white substance, as he did, he noticed my shoe peeping round the corner of the dumpster.
The man giggles "You are brave Hollland, bringing your girlfriend here mate." He smirked as he took a puff of smoke.
Angry and drunk. I jumped up.
"Tom don't do this... please..." Tears rolling down my face.
"Too late pretty one, he already has it in his hand. I'll send one of my boys round later for payment Tom. You know the price."
His voice faded into the distance as he struts away. You are crying uncontrollably at what you have just witnessed. Tom stood there frozen, clenching the packet in his fist.
