Chapter seven.

Rae

All I ever wanted was to apply as a barista in a coffee shop for a job and the next thing I know I'm off to Adelaide to act as Ashton Irwin's girlfriend. I'm actually scared of what's next. How far can this go? And is there something that could be possibly worse than this?

I was finishing to get ready for the day. Today, I'm going to meet 5 Seconds of Summer so I have to look ten times better than the usual but I still kept it simple. I straightened my hair, wore a white crop top and a black skinny jeans. I also applied make up and made sure my eyeliner was on point.

I also made sure I had everything I needed packed in my bag. I'm going to somewhere far from here and I'll be there for a whole week. Bella is not here because she visited her parents but she said her good luck and good bye to me last night.

I scrolled through my timeline in Facebook and Twitter as I waited for the chauffeur who's going to pick me up to go to the airport. When I heard a honk outside, I made my way to the car and may I say it was fancy one. The driver greeted me as he opened the door of the car for me. Silence filled the whole journey as I looked to the window on the way to the airport. When we arrived at our destination I was completely shocked of what was waiting for me.

A private jet. A freaking private jet going to Adelaide just for me. I just stood there with my eyes wide open and I think my mouth was, too. I was snapped back to reality when the driver suddenly spoke, "Shall we go Miss Byrne?" "Uh... sure let's go." I stuttered as he assisted me to the jet.

When I got inside, my eyes automatically roamed around the vehicle. I was surely amazed of everything that I'm seeing at that moment. I walked a further more and I found the room that I'll be staying for the journey and apparently, Mr. Conner was there as well.

"Good morning, Miss Byrne. Are you ready for your first week of work?" he asked. "Yes. I think I am." I answered and gave him a weak smile. "Wow. I didn't expect any of these." I said to him referring to the private jet that I was currently in. "It's nothing much really. Just sit back and ask Maya here if you need anything." he said as he referred to the lady beside him.
"We will arrive there in an hour and a half." he informed and I just nodded.

We finally took off and I sat a large and comfortable chair. Everything is just so bizarre to me right now, its hard to process it. My eyes got heavy and I felt tiredness coming up to me so I fell asleep easily.

I was woken up when Maya tapped me on the shoulder.

"Miss Byrne, sorry to interrupt your nap but we will be arriving shortly." she informed. "Its no biggie. Thanks, Maya." I said to her. I felt something wet on the pillow I used. Ugh, I drooled on my sleep, how embarrassing. I hope Maya didn't see that. So I flipped the pillow in the opposite way so they wouldn't see it.

I checked the time on my phone and it was 2:06 in the afternoon. I yawned and relaxed at my seat. I closed my eyes as I waited for us to land.

After landing, Mr. Conner assisted me to a car. Now we're off to the venue for the band's show today.

A few minutes have passed and we finally arrived at the venue. It was huge. My heart was beating faster, my hands were shaking as we're walking around the backstage. Mr. Conner was leading me to go to the band's dressing room because they were staying there before the show starts. As we approached the said room, I can hear laughter and loud talking inside and I'm very sure it's them. My heart could probably rip out off my chest right now because of my nerves. We stopped in front of the door that has "5 Seconds of Summer: Dressing room" written on a paper that is posted on the door.

"This is their room. Shall we go inside now?" Mr. Conner asked. I took a deep breath before nodding then he knocked on the door.

Its like the world went slow motion when the door was opening.

A guy with red hair opened the door for us.

"Hey, Richard! How's it going?" He greeted Mr. Conner. They seemed pretty close. He didn't notice me at first. "So nice to see you again, Michael. May we come in?" Mr. Conner said.

I was behind Mr. Conner when we entered the room. The others stood up and kind of lined up to listen to what Mr. Conner's going to say.

I am now fucking in front of them. I can't stop being nervous, ugh.

"So as you all know, we're going to have someone to be with you. Especially, Ashton." Mr. Conner started and the four boys listened attentively. I looked at Ashton but he kind of looked away. I felt eyes were on me but I looked at them too except that I didn't made eye contact with anyone.

"I would like you to meet Chantal Byrne." Mr. Conner continued and now, all eyes were on me. I smiled at them and gave them a nod. I made a little wave and uttered the word, "Hi"

"Hi Chantal!" "Nice to meet you, Chantal." "Hey, welcome!" were the responses I received. I kept smiling but it wasn't a fake one. It was really nice to meet them all too. They seemed pretty nice as well.

"Introduce yourselves." Mr. Conner demanded the boys. The guy with the dyed hair approached me first. "Hi! I'm Michael. You can just call me 'Mike' or 'Mikey'." he happily stated. "Nice to meet you, Michael." I gave him a smile and shook his hand. The next person who approached me was the one with the black hair and blonde streaks. He shook my hand and smiled, "Hi, I'm Calum." "Hi, Calum." and I shoot him a smile too. Next was the giant blonde one with blue eyes and a lip piercing. He also shook my hand and said, "Hello Chantal! I'm Luke Hemmings." he stated. "Nice to meet you, Luke." I said nicely.

And of course, the last one. The person I'll pretend to be in a relationship with. The person who'll give me my purpose here.

He slowly approached me with his head down. When he was near me, he reached for my hand to shake it. His face was emotionless and said, "Ashton." coldly and he easily let go of my hand. We only made a short eye contact. It was probably less than two seconds!

"Uhm.. Hi" I weakly smiled seeing his behavior. Isn't he not thrilled that I'm here? Why can't he have the same reaction like the other boys had? Does he despise me or something?

I just ignored that thought and continued talking to them.

"Okay. Now that you know each other, I'll have to go. Boys, I trust Miss Byrne to you. Don't do anything stupid. Treat her good while she's with you, okay? And Miss Byrne?" I looked at him waiting for his words. "You know what to do, right? Just remember them. That goes to you too Mr. Irwin. Don't forget the things I told you." he continued and Ashton just nodded. "I'll contact the both of you if you need to do something." he informed.

"I have to leave now. Good bye, boys. Good bye Miss Byrne." Mr. Conner said. The boys said their good byes in unison and I also said good bye to him.

We watched him leave the room and as he closed the door. When the door closed, I was finally left alone in a room with the four boys of 5 Seconds of Summer...
