Chapter 15

"Mommy, I'm scared.." a young (y/n) whispered, shaking up against her mothers body. The woman looked down at her daughter with a soft expression, but the fear in her eyes betrayed her. "It will be alright darling, I won't let him get you." She said, hushing her child. Her mother peeked up from behind the rubble they were hiding behind, as she did, they heard the growling grow louder. "Where is she, Moira?! Where is my precious daughter?!" An inhuman voice growled, upon hearing this (y/n) covered her ears, tears streaming down her face. Her mother grabbed her child's shoulders, turning her to look her in the eyes.
"Baby, listen to me, I am going to distract him, but you need to run as fast and far away as you can. Do not look back for me, my child." The young girl let out a whimper at these words, "Mommy, no! Please don't leave me!" Kissing her forehead, her mother began to rise up, "I will never leave you sweet girl, I will always be with you." With tears in her eyes, the woman turned and disappeared from the small child's sight. (Y/n) could hear a battle commencing, but she ran out of the burning remains of the village, and into the dark forest like her mother instructed. All the while her hands covering her mouth to muffle her wails, as she dealt with the fact that she was all alone. Now surrounded by the darkness of the woods, the same inhuman voice from the village now surrounded her, "Come now child, it is almost time to awaken.."

(Y/n)'s eyes flew open as she quickly sat up, her forehead coming into contact with Natsu's  causing the two dragon slayers to fall backwards. Rubbing her now sore forehead she sat up to see a concerned Natsu scooting closer to her. "Are you alright, Blossom? You were thrashing and screaming in your sleep," he traced his thumb against her cheek, wiping away her tears. "Y-yeah, I'm fine, it was just a bad dream.." (Y/n) mumbled, although she wasn't quite sure it was just a nightmare, it seemed more like a buried memory. Natsu furrowed his eyebrows, obviously he didn't like her answer, but the female dragon slayer seemed to not want to talk about it anymore. Instead of pressing her for answers, he pulled his girlfriend into his arms, and held her as she calmed down.
"Hey babe, we should go to the guild today," Natsu said softly after a few minutes of stroking his girlfriend's hair. This instantly perked (y/n) up as she hurriedly jumped out of his arms and off the bed. Natsu pouted ate her leaving his embrace as she ran around the room getting dressed. "Oh my gosh yes! I miss everyone! You've kept me here for like a week and a half," she giggled while putting on a black pair of jean shorts and white and red striped crop top. The salamander chuckled and scratched the back of his neck, "yeah well you sure didn't seem to mind it." (Y/n) blushed furiously as she remembered what they had been up to.
The (h/c) girl looked at herself in the mirror as she brushed her wild (h/l) hair out, her eyes lingering on her new mark from Natsu. A red dragon made of flames traveled down from the left side of her neck and down her shoulder blade. Her boyfriend noticed this, coming behind her and tracing a finger along the mark he gave her. "Now everyone will know you are mine," he breathed into her ear, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. Setting her hairbrush down, she turned to look at him, appreciating his mark that she'd given to him in the same spot. The seafoam green, serpent-like dragon, snaked down his neck, grazing his collarbone. The image surrounded by swirls of deep blues and greens. She smiled and reached up to kiss his cheek, wrapping her arms around his neck. "And they will know that you are mine."
Back at the Fairy Tail guild, team Natsu was sulking at their table. "Man, we haven't seen those two lovebirds since (y/n)'s birthday," Gray complained. "Gray, your clothes," Lucy sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as the ice mage scrambled and screamed for his missing clothing. "He's right though, they're slacking off when they should be training for the tournament," Erza stated, clearly frustrated. The group of wizards, though irritated, understood why their two friends needed to stay home since mating season had begun. Wendy, seemingly uncomfortable at the thought of the two older dragon slayers mating, quickly changed the subject. "So Happy, where have you and Crystal been staying since you haven't been at your house?" The blue Exceed looked up from the fish he was chewing on, showing that he had a full mouth. "Happy don't even think about trying to speak with that disgusting fish in your mouth!" Carla scolded him, causing him to quickly in reply.
Crystal giggled and answered for Happy, "we have been staying with Pantherlilly! I sure do miss (Y/n) though, I hope she's alright." Happy nodded in agreement, "yeah and I miss Natsu, they should be coming back soon though since we need to start our training! Speaking of training, what kind of horrors do you have planned for us, Erza?" The team shuddered at the thought, while Erza pondered on the question for a moment. Just as she was about to answer the guild doors flew open, revealing Natsu and (Y/n). "HEY GUYS, WE'RE BACK," Natsu yelled as the couple walked hand in hand inside. The final two members of team Natsu walked over to the table and casually sat down, but the team was staring at the marks on the pairs necks.
As he and Pantherlilly were leaving to go train, Gajeel noticed everyone staring at the two. "When two dragon slayers mate they will mark each other to claim one another," he explained while walking away. Natsu and (Y/n) turned bright red and smiled sheepishly, while their friends were still gawking at them. "O-okay, well then, since everyone is finally here we can get back to business," Erza said, clearing her throat after she regained her composure. However they were interrupted once again by team Shadow-Gear and Juvia. Levy spoke first when they reached the table. "Hey guys, mind if we train with you too?" "Yes we were thinking of training at the beach, the ocean would be great for my magic, and I was hoping that you and I could help each other train, (Y/n)," Juvia explained sheepishly to the water-dragon slayer, "you know, since our magic is so similar."
"And since we've gotten stronger in the past seven years," Droy said. "We can help all of you get stronger and supervise your training too," Jet finished. While everyone rolled their eyes at the two men, (Y/n) looked up at Natsu who put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close. He gave her a cheeky grin and she smiled back in silent agreement. "That sounds awesome, Juvia!" Natsu nodded, "yeah the water will help my flames get stronger too!" The rest of team Natsu also like the idea of training at the beach. "Alright, then it's settled," Erza said, placing a hand on the table and standing up. "We will leave first thing tomorrow morning. Everyone pack and rest up, we've not a moment to lose!"
