"Wow this is amazing," (Y/n) said as she breathed in the ocean air. Lucy nodded and stretched her arms out, "Yeah and the view is incredible too!" Natsu however, was less focused on the beach, and had his attention solely on his girlfriend in a skimpy bikini. "Hehe I say we hit the water first," (Y/n) giggled, grabbing onto Natsu's hand to pull him towards the waves. However, the attempt to reach the water was in vain, as Jett and Droy quickly stepped in front of them. "Listen, we are not here to play, we're here to train," Carla scolded, making (Y/n) place a hand on her hip and pout. "Yeah so let's get to it," Happy demanded, "Aye sir," Crystal chimed in. "Heyyyyy, that's my line," The blue cat whined in response.

"You know, it's hard to take you seriously when you're dressed like that," Droy said, Jett chuckling next to him as they looked at the three Exceeds swim gear. Happy's in particular since he had on a yellow swim cap with an inflatable tube around his waist. "It's important to balance work and pleasure," Erza said from the water as she began splashing around. "We'll play hard, eat hard, and sleep hard," Jett frowned at the scarlett haired wizard's remark. "Hey, wait just a minute! What about train hard," he questioned her, frustrated. "Yeah that's why you're here. When we're done with you," Droy chimed in, but Jett finished for him. "You might just have a chance of beating us 'cause there ain't no way you could right now!" The two Shadow-Gear men stood proudly, but it was short lived as they were thrown away by Natsu and Gray running towards the water.
"The ocean!" Natsu yelled as he sprinted, "Last one there is a rotten egg," Gray replied. "What the heck," (Y/n) shouted, "when did Natsu even leave my side?!" Lucy bust out laughing as they watched the two guys begin a series of contests. "There's no stopping them, they're idiots. Come on, let's go have some fun," the blonde said, taking (Y/n)'s hand and pulling her to the water. Team Natsu, along with Levy and Juvia, were having a blast playing and goofing around with each other, while Jett and Droy looked on from the shore. "Look at 'em! They're kicking back and relaxing," Jett said to Droy as he turned around, "Well it's only the first day so I guess we can let them enjoy it." Since Natsu had finished his competitions with Gray, he returned to (Y/n), who was now sitting on the shore with the waves running over her feet.
"Wow, you sure did get quite the tan," (Y/n) said, giggling as Natsu sat down next to her. They watched the sun begin to set in silence for a moment before she spoke again. "You know, Lunala would bring me to the ocean a lot to train. She always said the moon and the tides were the source of our magic," the water dragon slayer said quietly. Natsu looked at the solemn expression on his girlfriend's eyes and put his arm around her. "We will find them again, I promise," he said as he kissed her cheek. "Natsu, do you remember your parents? Like, your human ones," she asked, her words almost a whisper. This question took Natsu aback. He'd never really thought about him having a family apart from Igneel. "I-I don't think so," he said after thinking for a moment, "I was really little when I first met Igneel. Actually, my first memory is him finding me. Why? Do you remember yours?"

(Y/n) didn't take her gaze away from the waves in the distance. "I'm not sure.. I didn't think I did, but... I had this dream the other night, well it felt more like a memory, and I was a child. There was this woman who looked like me, and I called her mom. Well not exactly like me.. She had long, white hair and eyes so blue they looked like they were glowing. We were hiding from a monster- no, a demon- and she gave her life to protect me. She told me to run, but before I did I looked to her while she went to fight the monster and I swear, Natsu, I could have sworn she sprouted white wings like an angel. I remember running as fast as I could and then I was all alone in the darkness and I heard that same demonic voice calling out to me. The thing is, the demon's voice sounded almost familiar, like I wasn't scared because it was a monster, I was scared because I knew it. This demon was looking for me, it- it called me it's daughter.." Natsu looked at her with concern written all over his face. She was trembling, tears beginning to form in her eyes.
Natsu pulled her to him and began comforting her, "listen to me, (Y/n), I will not let anyone hurt you. I will protect you no matter what, no monster-demon thing will ever get you." (Y/n) looked up at her boyfriend with watery eyes, "Natsu, I'm scared... I-it.. It was telling me to wake up. The scariest part was that I almost felt a part of me try to reach back out to the voice. Like something inside me was trying to wake up... No.. Not wake up.. more like something was trying to get out... something evil.." Natsu watched as the (h/c) dragon slayer sobbed uncontrollably in his arms. He wouldn't let it show, but he was terrified too. Terrified of losing her, terrified that he wouldn't be able to protect her, he couldn't let that happen.
"(Y/n) look at me," Natsu lifted her chin, making her eyes meet his, " Look. At. Me. Whatever happens, we are in this together. Not just me, but all of Fairy Tail, our family, will be by your side. I love you more than life itself, and I will never let you go. I won't lose you." He wiped the tear from her eyes as she sniffled, slowly starting to calm down in his arms. "Come on babe, why don't we go have some fun in the water. I need to clear my head," (Y/n) said with a small smile, a smile which her boyfriend returned. However, even while they hung out with their friends in the early evening light, (Y/n) couldn't shake the feeling that something or rather, someone, was trying to get out.
