Our Love Story

Chapter 16

Takano's POV
"Oi! Are you okay?" I panicked a little and put my hand against his forehead.
He was burning up. I picked him up and took him back into the cabin.
I laid him in bed and took an ice pack from the freezer for him.
Even in the cold he managed to get a fever -- is that even possible?
I unbuttoned his shirt and turned off the heater.
I took out some medicine from the cabinet and took out a spoon.
I realised I couldn't spoon it in his mouth whilst he was asleep, could I?
I sighed and poured a spoonful from the bottle and put the spoon in my mouth.
Gently, I leaned down to kiss Onodera, pushing the medicine into his mouth. I pulled away and kissed the top of his head.
Night had fallen and he had yet to wake up from his slumber so I decided to go to bed. His fever had died down but before I want to bed I decided to change the ice pack.
I climbed into bed and wrapped both arms around his waist, nuzzling my face into his neck.
I found it quite hard to sleep, worrying about Onodera's fever. Nonetheless, I tried to get some sleep.
When I woke up in the morning, Onodera was sill asleep. I smiled at his sleeping face and stroked his hair. A few minutes later he woke up.
"Morning, princess." I smiled.
"Morning..." He groaned.
"Takano-san, you didn't get much sleep last night did you?" He asked. How did he know?
"No, not really." I kissed his cheek.
I could feel it now -- I looked like trash.
"I can tell because you have heavy eyebags and you're white as a ghost!" He exclaimed. I forced myself out of bed anyway.
"Our flight is at 9pm so we have the rest of the day to do what we like." I ran my fingers through his soft hair.
"Think of something to do whilst I get changed and brush my teeth." I smiled and grabbed my black top, black jeans and black scarf and went to get changed.
A few minutes later I came back out.
"Have you decided what you want to do?" I asked.
"I think we should just enjoy the snow." He flashed a smile and I nodded.
"Once you get changed we'll go out."
He nodded and quickly went to get ready. A few minutes later he came out of the bathroom.
I took his hand and we left the cabin.
He led me to a glacier and we sat by the small creek of water.
"Hey, isn't this where--" He nodded and I smiled.

I laid down in the snow, pulling Onodera on top of my. I kissed him gently and closed my eyes. He kissed back, wrapping his arms around my neck. I pulled away and rubbed my nose against his.
"I love you." I smiled.
"I-I love you too..." He blushed, looking away. I sat back up and Onodera sat in between my legs. I wrapped both arms around his waist and kissed his soft cheek.
The icy glaciers were glistening in the sun.
The only sound heard was the creak of ice water that ran thrasher through the glacier. There was an occasional bird chirp and sometimes a gazelle, an antolope or a moose would pass by. The sound of nature was so peaceful and quiet. Neither of us said a word at all, but we just enjoyed each others company. Onodera then turned around and kissed my cheek softly. I smiled and nuzzled my face into his hair.
Today was our last day in Canada but we've certainly enjoyed it and made some unforgettable memories. Definitely something to remember when I marry him.
