Chapter 21

Onodera cuddled closely into Takano's chest, letting out a soft sigh, clinging tightly to his chest.
"You're warm..." He mumbled. Takano let out a soft chuckle.
"I think you'd find anything warm at your temperature." He joked, running his fingers through his hair.
"Shut up." Onodera weakly complained, snuggling his face into Takano's firm chest.
Takano smirked. The tips of his fingers traced soft patterns and shapes all over Onodera's lower back, gently caressing the surface of his skin. Onodera relaxed into Takano's touch, closing his eyes again.
Not more than a couple of minutes later, Takano had lulled Onodera to sleep against his shoulder.

A couple of hours later, Onodera's emerald eyes fluttered open. He looked up slightly to see Takano asleep peacefully. Smiling gently, he leaned up and kissed his cheek. Takano's dark eyes opened slowly, returning the kiss on the tip of Onodera's nose. Takano sat up and Onodera rested his head on his thigh. Takano's fingers ran through Onodera's soft brown hair.
"Hungry?" Takano asked.
"No, I--" Onodera was cut off by the sound of his stomach growling.
"Are you sure?" Takano chuckled slightly.
"I'll make lunch then. Ramen okay?" He asked and Onodera blushed before nodding slightly. Takano sat up and stood up. He pressed a kiss to the top of Onodera's head before making his way to the kitchen. Onodera turned on his side and smiled as he watched Takano head for the kitchen and he took note of how lucky he was.
Takano saw him smiling from the kitchen.
"What are you smiling at...?" Takano raised an eyebrow as he asked.
"Nothing." Onodera replied with a soft smile.
Takano smiled back and a few minutes later, he returned with a bowl of ramen for Onodera.
"Eat up, you need to recover some strength." Takano smiled and he sat on the bed next to Onodera, handing him the bowl.
"Thanks." Onodera nodded and took the bowl.
"If you're feeling up to it later, we'll go out for dinner." Takano kissed the top of Onodera's head.
Not long after, Onodera finished his bowl of ramen and Takano took his bowl into the sink to wash.
Once Takano returned, he sat back down on the bed. Onodera moved his head to rest on Takano's thigh. Takano moved his hand down to Onodera's head and he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Are you okay darling?" Takano asked as the tip of his thumb brushed gently across the shell of Onodera's ear.
"I'm fine, just a bit tired." He sighed gently.
"Take a nap. I'll treat you to cake if you aren't up for dinner." Takano smiled and he leaned down to kiss his cheek before picking up his bag and pulling out some work.
He sat on the bed, reading through the next manuscript as Onodera rested peacefully next to him. He sighed, running his fingers through Onodera's hair as he worked. Onodera twisted and turned slightly in his sleep and Takano pulled the blanket up further, kissing his forehead. Onodera's nose nuzzled gently into Takano's thigh and Takano smiled before going back to his work.

A few hours later, Onodera's emerald eyes fluttered open.
"Takano..." Onodera sat up slightly.
"Hey. Hungry or not?" Takano asked, putting down his work.
"No... Not really..." Onodera sighed, turning to press his face into Takano's leg.
"Alright. We still have cake from the other day so let me know if you want any." Takano smiled, carding his fingers through Onodera's hair.
Onodera nodded and sat up, pulling his knees up to his chest and leaning his head on Takano's shoulder.
"How're you feeling?" Takano asked as he held his hand on Onodera's head.
"Head ache... Sore throat..." Onodera sighed quietly.
"Let me get you some aspirin and a lozenge for your throat. Gimme a sec." Takano stood up from the bed and went to the bathroom, opening the cabinet.
He pulled out a packet of lozenges and a bottle of aspirin before heading for the kitchen to pour a glass of water.
Takano returned to Onodera, handing him 4 aspirin tablets and the water.
"Here." He smiled and Onodera quietly thanked him, taking the aspirin and gulping it down with some water.
Takano then handed him a throat lozenge.
"Go back to sleep, or your head will explode." Takano chuckled slightly and Onodera smiled before lying back down, closing his eyes.
"I'll wake you up at dinner time." Takano ran his fingers through Onodera's hair again with a sigh.
"It's alright, I still have a lot of work to do for Mutou-sensei that I need to get done." Onodera sighed, leaning over Takano to get his bag.
"No." Takano took the bag off him.
"No work today."
"But I have to get it done for tomorrow. I'm almost done..." Onodera weakly protested.
"No. I'll wake you up if she phones to chase you up though." Takano sighed, realising that unless Onodera can get his way somehow he won't rest.

Onodera sighed and then nodded.
"Fine..." He closed his eyes, his head falling on Takano's thigh as he fell back asleep.

Not long later, Onodera's phone rang. Takano sighed, but still chose not to wake Onodera up.
He cut the call.
"Takano here. I'm not waking Onodera up. He needs to rest. He's overworked and ill"
He sent the text and sat Onodera's phone back on the bedside table.

A couple of hours later Onodera woke up again to find that Takano had fallen asleep next to him.
"Takano-san...?" He quietly called and Takano's hazel eyes fluttered open slowly.
"Hey. You feeling any better?" Takano asked, cupping Onodera's cheek in his hand.
With a blush, Onodera nodded.
"Yeah. I think so."

"Hungry? I can make you something for breakfast." Takano asked and Onodera nodded.
"Alright. Waffles okay? That's all I have." Takano asked again.
"Yeah, that's fine. Thank you." Onodera smiled weakly, sitting up and sniffling.
Takano stood up and went into the kitchen.
He picked up a packet of unopened waffles and slid them in the toaster, pushing the button down.
Not long later, the waffles pinged up and he took them out, putting them on a plate with some sugar. He picked up a bottle of water from the cabinet and went back out to Onodera.
"Here." He passed Onodera the plate with a knife and fork.
"I bought you a bottle of water too."
"Thanks." Onodera smiled and Takano kissed his forehead.
"I'm gonna do some work so let me know if you need anything."
