[Your name] and Sam sit in the latter's bedroom on their phones, not speaking to one another. It had been a few days since the party and both of them haven't spoken about it. [Your name] thought that Sam would bring it up eventually just to rant, but she never did. Sam would just stay quiet whenever she came over. She wanted to understand what was running through her old friend's mind, so she shuts off her phone and asks, "Are you really not going to the championship?"

"I told him I wouldn't be there, so I'm gonna stick by that," Sam replies. [Your name] sighs and folds her arms.

"Well, what about everyone else? Aisha is competing too, you know. She's gonna be the only girl and she needs moral support," she says. Sam looks up from her phone and simply stares at her friend, making her sigh in defeat. [Your name] drops her arms and adds, "Okay, and you need to talk to Miguel too."

"No. No way. That jerk needs to apologize to me first before I even consider talking to him," Sam shoots back quickly as she looks back at her phone. [Your name] stands up and walks over to the bed where Sam is sitting to take her phone. Sam looks up at her angrily and shouts, "Hey!"

"Stop being petty and talk to him. He clearly didn't mean to hit you and he was intoxicated!" [Your name] says firmly.

"Him being drunk doesn't mean anything," Sam replies with a roll of her eyes.

"Sam, you know I love you, but you don't know a damn thing about being under the influence," [Your name] spits out. Sam is taken aback slightly as her mouth hangs open.

"And how do you know that?" she stammers out.

"Because I know you. You think weed smells bad, let alone any form of alcohol," [Your name] says. Sam stares at her for a moment before letting out a short laugh.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," she agrees. [Your name] nods as she sits on the bed in front of her friend.

"Look, he shouldn't have hit you, but he didn't mean to. Plus, he was already worrying over Robby earlier in the day. You showing up to a party after not texting him all day didn't help," [Your name] explains. Sam thinks for a second before nodding.

"I can see that. I guess we can go to the tournament then," she says. [Your name] smiles widely before she hugs Sam tightly.

"I'll go let your dad know."

[Your name] looks around as she and the LaRusso family walk into the gymnasium where the tournament's being held. She looks at all the banners hanging from the ceiling as she notices one of a young Daniel getting ready to strike an opponent. She looks up at it in awe as Sam comes up behind her, applause ringing out around them. They both look back to see the people in the lobby clapping for Daniel as he greets the other board members, making the two teen girls glance at each other and giggle before they rush inside to get to their seats in the front row.

They don't have to wait long before some of the dojos line the edges of the mats, now blue and gold as compared to the old red and black color scheme. [Your name] looks around for her Cobra Kai friends, though she doesn't find them. Her face saddens slightly as the announcer comes out onto the mat.
