"just sit down damnit!" the girl hollered, getting sick and tired of hearing dream say "I'm alright! lets go a little more then we can stop and you can patch me up".

"but-" dream started but y/n cut him off, anger and impatience clear on her face. dream sighed in defeat and groaned. "fine. we should be far enough now anyways."

they were in another oak forest, the rivers soothing water flowing next to them. they could hear birds singing without a care in the world. singing as if they weren't going to die when the night woke.

the girl smiled, anger and impatience wiped clear off her face, knowing she won. "good. now sit down." she gestured towards the grass in front of one of the many oak trees they were surrounded by.

once dream obliged, the girl squatted down next to him and lifted up his sweatshirt, taking in the large cut on his lower abdomen.

"damn.. that looks like it hurts." y/n stood up straight, the pain in her hand and neck subsided a small amount so she could focus on patching dream up without a problem.

the girl rummaged through her bag and took out anything she thought she needed. truth be told, she had no clue what she was doing. there was always a first time for everything though. she grabbed out supplies she gathered from the village and placed it all down next to dream.

dream rolled his eyes lightheartedly and scoffed. "yeah, it does. can you hurry up? we are loosing daylight."

"touchy touchy." she mumbled, kneeling down next to him and going to work.

"alright, that should do it." y/n shoved the used supplies into her bag, proud of herself for doing a half decent job. it had only taken her about 20 minutes to patch dream up.

dream tilted his head down to examine himself. he wasn't going to lie, it wasn't bad. dream was kinda impressed. it hurt like a bitch but still, not bad.

"hey, thats pretty good for your first time." dream looked up at y/n, speaking as if he did it daily. he furrowed his brows, finally taking in the bruises forming on her neck and the slash from sapnap's sword. his green, hidden eyes wondered down to her hand, seeing the dried up blood and some new on the surface.

"thanks." the girl cleared her throat, shifting uncomfortably. she felt dream's stare on her but she couldn't be too sure if he was actually looking at her or not. "what?" she tilted her head to the side in confusion. it looked like he was studying her— which she didn't appreciate. he just kept his gaze without a word. y/n wanted to see his facial expression's, she wanted to know if it was a good or bad one.

dream slowly got to his feet and made his way towards y/n, lifting her hand to see the slice in the middle of it.

"when did that happen?" dream questioned, grabbing his bag and going through it, pulling out a couple of bandages he crafted when he was waiting for the iron to smelt.

he moved effortlessly, like he knew what he was doing. dream definitely didn't, but he felt as if he did. he moved as if he had been in this situation many times before; having to heal someone after being attacked, fighting against said attacker and winning almost every time. dream didn't know what he was capable of.. but, he also didn't know himself. there could be so much more under the surface that he hadn't figured out yet or remembered, not only about himself but to this new world and his new friend.

dream wanted to so desperately remember his past, remember himself. yet every time he tried to remember or felt himself getting closer to the truth, he would get this head splitting headache that wouldn't go away until he stopped thinking about it. he has only tried once or twice.
