Rhianne
Although I didn't really agree with the entire idea Jack had, I quite enjoyed taking Nate's place. The rest of the guys were really nice and welcomed me with open arms. Nate was the lead guitarist in their band; Joey was their singer and also played guitar, a guy called Charlie played drums and their bassist's name was Marty. I learned the songs they were playing in record time and we began practicing. It was a little off-putting that Jack was pretending to be a fan-girl and was almost throwing himself over the barrier. Nonetheless, it was hilarious.
Pretty soon, Nate called the guys and told them that he'd be in hospital for the next few days to make sure that the bones in his leg were set in the right place. He'd also be having surgery to have some pins put in the bone. The guys didn't mind too much; they said that having a female guitarist for a few days would get them the extra attention they needed, especially as they hadn't released their first album yet. I smiled as we practiced, and on my way back to the bus a few hours later, I knew that I could fit in somewhere.
Cassadee, Rian's girlfriend helped me to wheel in the guitar amps and the drum set. She was probably the nicest person I'd met yet (perhaps except from Jack) and also made me feel wanted on the tour. I liked how she tried to make a joke out of what we were saying to lighten the mood, and how she always spoke with a tone of voice which made you want to listen to her. It was reassuring to know that it wasn't just the band that valued me here. Lisa and Cassadee were the only girls I'd really classed as friends in my life. I could have easily got used to it.
"So how long have you lived in Baltimore?" Cass asked me as we carried a box out of the bus. She caught me in the middle of a daydream, and I had to think about my answer a little more than I usually would have.
"About 4 years. I went to University, got a transfer and my degree and now here I am." I told her. I know I probably wasted my education, but who cares? I'm on tour with a band and earning money. That's all I needed at the minute.
"What made you choose little old Baltimore of all places? You could have gone to LA or Chicago, surely." She asked. I shrugged a little under the weight of the box.
"I hated the monster my mum married. It wasn't like my family wanted me there to begin with. I was the mistake." I joked. Cass held a hard expression on her face.
"My family were the same. They didn't, and still don't approve of me and Ri. They thought that we could both have so much more to do with our lives, but I didn't want that. I love Ri to bits and wouldn't trade this life for anything. That's why I always come on tour with these guys." She explained. We placed the box down on the ground before walking outside to collect the guitars.
"I guess that's the way some parents are though. Mine didn't respect the fact that I was a creative child. I spent all of my school years in the music rooms at school, but passed all of my exams. They wanted me to be a doctor or some shit. I couldn't care less about that. I figured I could save lives in a different way." I admitted.
"That's exactly what Alex has always said. Jack never even went to college. Zach was too busy at the gym, and Rian just followed the group. They've all been friends for years." She smiled. She obviously knew them well. "So what do you think of everyone?"
"The guys are all great. Rian was so nice to me when he spoke on the phone, and Alex is so approachable. I love how quiet Zach is to. Its almost like he knows what's going on and doesn't feel the need to ask anyone, or even comment." I told her. She laughed.
"And Jack?" She picked up Jack's guitar and handed it to me.
"He's probably the most sweet one. Can I tell you something?" I asked. She nodded.
