Kayoko pov:

The rest of the night was spent helping to make a bunker of sorts to protect us or whatever and actually protecting everyone. Mostly 067, I seriously don't know why I'm so protective.

I was hit at least 5 times while trying to keep people away from us. My nose was still bleeding, my lip too. The cut on my side hurt like a bitch but it was bearable, I had a lot of bruises too, my whole body ached.

I had stayed up keeping watch with the old man, he was pretty good company. Stayed quiet most of the time. Eventually he fell asleep and I was left alone with my thoughts, not getting any sleep. Thinking about my life when it's shit really makes you think about everything you've done to make it like that.

I came out, my parents hated that. I'm still allowed back but just 'cause of my sister, Lily. At least they still care about her. I wonder what they would think of this. I have no money and 72,3 million won in debt. The 'job' money would've helped me pay it of but I was essentially fired. I'm 21 years old and my life is falling apart while there are people like Dani, she's almost a doctor, has payed of her debt and she's a year younger. I'm truely a wrec

I saw 067 move a few hours into the night, she opened her eyes, looking around cautiously. Her eyes met mine and she immediately tensed.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you.", I said softly.

She sat up straight, eyeing me. She came to a conclusion and seemed to relax slightly. I was in a very open position and injured. If she were to attack I wouldn't have had a chance to defend myself. "You're the one that...saved me. Yesterday."

"That I am"

She looked around again, just for a second and turned back to me. "Did you stay up all night?"

I stayed silent, contemplating my answer. Yes...or no? The truth seemed like a good answer, that would reveal that she's tired and weak though. That's not ideal.

"Kinda hard to sleep like this. The fighting died down a while ago...midnight maybe. Someone had to keep watch anyway."

She looked at me with her head slightly tilted. Her gaze slided from my eyes to my lips, to my body, no doubt studying my injuries. Ignoring the butterflies, I sat up straighter and stayed silent.

"Doesn't seem like you could defend yourself very well, what makes you think you could save us?"

"Hope"

That was the stupidest answer I could have come up with.

Slowly the lights became brighter, and everyone woke up. Standing up to see the night's damage, I almost fell down with the sudden pain in my side. I cried out softly and doubled over. Everyone looked at me strangely, but continued to the line that started to form.

Straightening up, I slowly made my way to where 'breakfast' was being given to everyone still alive. Probably 80-ish people. That seems like a lot less than last night.

After eating, everyone was taken to a room. Completely white. It seemed almost as eery than the childish colours...I couldn't help but imagine the room covered in blood. I paled and decided on listening to the guards about the game, life was on the line: Teams of 10 are to be chosen and supposedly put against each other.

Before I could walk away from the team, that started talking about an only men team, my arm was taken by the old man and dragged over to the group again. They did not look happy.

"We went for an all men team. We have 3 girls now", A new guy said.

"Watch it, we could easily kick your ass.", I snapped back.
