it's kinda sad... but um
thank you :)

UNFORTUNATELY, FRED HAD TO LEAVE SHORTY AFTER MADDIE FELL ASLEEP. He pressed the covers up to her shoulders before placing a soft kiss to her forehead. He pulled on his clothes and secretly grabbed a glass of water from the kitchen, successfully passing everyone who was either engrossed in a game or conversation. He placed it on the table beside her bed so she would have it when she woke up.

He took a moment to admire her beauty as her chest fell up and down from the way she was breathing. His fingers delicately brushed a few strands of her hair out of her face and down her shoulder. He couldn't believe that after so many years of watching her from the sidelines, loving her from afar, he finally had her as his.

He couldn't express how happy he was.

Fred had spent a lot of time on Maddie's Christmas present, he had planned it weeks in advance. He had taken notes of what she liked and what she didn't like so that he knew exactly what to get her. He had done this every time they went to shopping at any point with her, whenever she would stop to admire something, he would make note of it.

Maybe it was stupid and maybe he was being a hopeless romantic but Fred had always noticed the little things about Maddie. He noticed how she played with her fingers when she got nervous, he noticed how she skipped meals often, he noticed how she cared deeply about her friends, and he noticed the scars that sat on her thighs.

The night after he found out, he went to his room and cried. He couldn't believe that someone so kind like her would ever see herself as less than perfect and he hated himself for not catching it. It pained him to see her in pain and he would do anything to take all of that away.

He never brought it up with her in fear that it would trigger her and make her relapse. He also didn't want her to lash out and get mad at him and then herself.

This was also his way with the eating but he was starting to notice that it was getting out of hand. Harry had even come to him expressing his worries for Madelyn. Fred had been trying to think of a way to talk to her about it ever since. He thought about talking to his mom about it, but he didn't want to intrude on Maddie's privacy since he knew she and his mother were close.

He didn't really know what to do. All he wanted was for her to get better.

Christmas morning at the Burrow was chaotic. Ginny and Ron were trying to rile people up to open presents while the twins just wanted to eat breakfast. Hermione was just relaxing with her cat on the couch, waiting for Molly to decide what everyone was doing. Arthur and Harry were talking and Maddie was extremely sore from the night before.
