AbuseAspens pov:
eight years ago
Small brown eyes darted around the home, trying to find a perfect hiding place.
10,
he had to find it quick,
9,
he couldn't be caught again. not again. it hurt too much last time.
5,
The cupboard!
4,
behind the wardrobe?
3,
quick, quick, quick!
2,
the wardrobe!
1.
He's hidden, he won't find him. hopefully
" ready or not here I come!" Small, blue scaled hands clasped round the young boys mouth, forcing down any sound that wanted to escape, giving his hiding spot away. He waited, his body ridged with fear. Still. Silent. Not a single noise.
The loud swishing of the males tail indicated that the other was getting closer to the boys hiding spot. Only a thin piece of rotting wood lay between them.
"Mmm I wonder where he could be?" The males voice was deep, and inviting. A truly opposite twist to his personality. Mean and selfish. Despite all the boy loved this man, ignoring the fear of how roughly he treats the smaller boy.
The small compacted space wasn't at all a comfortable, let alone inviting. The rotting wood had creatures crawling through the inside of the planks. Eating away at the chips and mould. The water smelt old and stuffy, the clothes ripped and teared at the seams. the green family didn't use many things, they didn't go out often, and they didn't interact with many others. They were constricted to what Aspens father wanted them to do. Who he wanted them to be, how they acted and what they said, if they didn't, one scale out of line. The consequences were dire.
The loud slamming of draws startled the small sea monster, he jumped, his action making a small shuffling noise. Despite not being a very loud, the small sound seemed to echo round the rectangular box, slipping through the cracks and alerting his father of his hiding place. His eyes formed small slits as he heard his fathers tail moving forwards towards his hiding spot.
closer
and closer
and closer
The doors flew open, revealing his fathers smiling face, eyes large slits, the pupils a colour of purple hue. Green and blue scales circled round his face, and sharp teeth protruded from his mouth. his hair was a colour of cobalt blue, complete with darker shades of denim. His arms were large and had a strong build, his chest and legs were similar. Blue scales covered his skin, a lapis blue tail keeping floating him in one place.
The boy stared up at his father with fear. His small irises showing his carob brown pupils. Sapphire scales coated in the shadows of the evening water. Aspens arm was forcefully grabbed by his fathers, blue scales of different shades blending together in close proximity.
Aspen didn't like the colour of his fins and scales, or how his body looked, it was too much like him. His father took him to the kitchen. They say kitchen, it was more a small compartment with lumps of kelp and seaweed. Pushed and compacted into holes and small cubbies.
