The darkness faded, as Thomas began to slowly open his eyes. But once they were fully opened, he was met with the sight of a wooden ceiling. Sitting up, Thomas grabbed his head, groaning from the pain of a headache. Feeling his head, he noticed there were bandages wrapped around his forehead. Confused, Thomas looked around, realizing he was in a soft, cozy bed, inside of a small cabin room. The only source of light the room had was a small candle in the window near the top of the room. With this, Thomas stood up, took a deep breath, and put on a rejoiced smile with his hands on his hips. "Welp, I'm traumatized!"
Suddenly, he saw someone standing in the doorway of the room from the corner of his eye, startling him. He screamed so loud that the person in the doorway got startled as well. It was an old park ranger, holding a lantern. "Jeez kid! Don't scare me like that! Trying to give this old man a heart attack!? Also you scream like a women," said the man while holding his chest and breathing heavily.

Thomas raised his eyebrow and replied "Well first of all mister, who the heck are you!? What is this place!? How did you find me!? I have so many questions!!! Also where's my stuff?" The man rolled his eyes and muttered under his breath, "10 seconds in and I already hate him. Does this kid ever shut up?" "No, not really," Thomas replied. With a look of disturbance, the man replied, "Well I'm not going to theorize how the hell you heard me say that, but that aside, if you want your junk then follow me kid." Thomas shrugged and followed.
Following the guy out the room, Thomas walked with the man as he guided the boy through the dark cabin halls with his lantern. "Sooooooo, introductions are pretty important. And also I wanna break the silence because I'm weirded out with the lack of context. I'm Thomas," said the boy with a smile on his face. The man glanced over at him with an annoyed expression and replied, "The name's Mike. Ranger Mike. But you can just call me Mike. Don't make it annoying." Thomas smirked and responded, "Ayyyy, I knew it! I knew you were a park ranger. See Mike? Now we're getting to know each other. First impressions are also very important. And since lying is against my moral code, my first impression of you is that you're a grumpy old man. Which is pretty cool-" "Hey now kid! I'll have you know I'm a party guy!", Mike corrected with an arrogant smile. "Also, you're one to talk about first impressions kid. You have an oddly good vocabulary for a kid who doesn't know the definition of shut up," laughed Mike. "Heyyy! That was mean!," Thomas laughed back. In no time, they were both laughing together and bonding while walking down the seemingly never ending cabin hallway.
"Alright kid! We're here," said Ranger Mike as he blew out his lantern. It was only pitch black for a split second before a fireplace lit up the large cabin room like magic. "Woahhhh! That was freaking awesome!!! Yay! My stuff!!!", Thomas eagerly shouted as he ran over to his backpack and suitcase. As he ran by, he noticed the three other kids that were on the bus with him inside the room with them. Noticing them, Thomas excitedly ran up to one of them to greet them. "Hi!!! I'm Th-" "Silence pipsqueak!", shouted a tall boy with glasses towards Thomas. The boy held out his hand, signalling Thomas to stay back as the boy adjusted his glasses. "You don't have the proper intellect to communicate with someone such as I, Jameson," annoyingly nagged the boy.

Thomas slowly backed up with a nervous smile and his hands up. "Okayyyy thennn," Thomas softly laughed. In the same instant, Thomas noticed a shorter, younger looking boy right beside Jameson, scrolling through his phone. "Hey, what's up I guess. Name's Ray, " said the boy unenthusiastically to Thomas. "Ohh, hi Ray! I'm Thomas!" He replied as he thought to himself, "Well atleast this one actually said hi."

Just as Thomas went to turn around to greet the last kid, "Yo park ranger!", yelled a pissed off looking girl. "Tori don't appreciate not having context to waking up in a spooky ass cabin in the middle of nowhere! And second, this don't look like no damn 'Mystic Camp'," the angry girl continued ranting.

Ranger Mike murmured under his breath, "Man, who in the hell taught their daughter to speak in third person. Guess this little girl hasn't learned her place with rights yet, *cough* anyway," Mike continued out loud this time, "Mystic Camp? Nah, never heard of it. Welcome to Mystery Camp!"
