"So what you're saying is this is false advertising. Not cool yo. Tori is outta this joint," she said to Mike, turning around to leave with her hands in her pockets.
"I'm no rocket scientist but that can't be a good idea," said Thomas who felt slight concern. Mike gave Tori a 'whatever' gesture and replied to Thomas, "Nahhh, let her go out into the threatening, somber woods to get horrifically maimed."
Hearing that widened Tori's eyes as she turned back around away from the door and said, "On second thought yo, you got me into this mess so imma just have to stay here and annoy you yo."
Mike smirked and replied, "Yeah yeah shut up. And congrats on not speaking in third person for once 'yo'." Hearing the exchange made Ray roll his eyes. "What a drag. I'm off to bed," sighed Ray unenthusiastically as he walked away scrolling through his phone.
"Yes little brother. Let us distance ourselves from these unintelligible lowlife homo sapiens," remarked Ray's older brother Jameson whilst adjusting his glasses.
"Jeez, either you're a God damn nerd or a total let down. What is with you kids? Where's the jocks and cool kids?", Ranger Mike exclaimed.
Suddenly, with his hand across his chin, Thomas said, "Everyone wait! Don't head off to bed just yet!" Ray, Jameson, and Tori all stopped walking to their rooms and looked at Thomas in the center of the room. Even Mike bat an eye.
"I think we should be questioning who or whatever that figure was that swerved our bus off the road. I mean, what could a random person be doing on a mountain so late at night. It looked as if they blended in with the fog. To truly go in depth about this, can you explain to us the details how we got here Ranger Mike?"
"Hey kid! I said just call me Mike! But anyway, I was out hiking the morning after the huge storm we had two days ago. There was supposed to be a bus that should've arrived here already, but never showed up, so I was kinda looking into what happened with that. Really had no idea where I was going to be honest. I ended up getting myself by some foggy ass woods by a mountain trail. By there I found your tiny little bodies. And man let me tell ya, it looked like something out of a damn horror movie. Four kids covered in blood by some bushes, man that would've made some cool merchandise. So then I took your bodies back to my cabin. Man that sounds weird to say out loud. But that's how yall got here. Never found the bus or the driver. His body was probably eaten by bears or something. "
Ray smirked and replied, "Heh, that really would have been cool merch." Mike replied, "See? This creepy looking kid gets it."
Tori grunted and said, "Ayo wait. So how do we get home and why is this place called 'Mystery' and not 'Mystic Camp'."
Mike replied, "Because I felt like changing the name last second. And also, you got to your destination didn't you? And got free first aid care. I'm not legally responsible that some jackass decided to swerve y'all off road. You get to go home at the end of summer. Didn't you read the brochure tiny dishwasher!? Now go make me a sandwich, extra mayo."
Tori balled her fist and shouted, "I'll put you in a damn hospital old man! Try me you sexist dummy!" Mike rolled up his sleeve and angrily replied, "Thomas, would it be wrong to beat a little girl?"
Thomas put his arm out in front of Mike and nervously said, "Hey now, I think everyone just needs a breather. So Mike, that guy we saw. Are you sure you don't know anything about him?"
"Can you stop this blabbering nonsense already?", Jameson remarked. "Why are you looking so deep into nothing. You're a brainless chimp trying to sound smart. I can read you like a physics book."
Thomas looked at Jameson and replied, "Oh that's cool man. So anyways, Mike, do you know anything?" Ranger Mike scratched his head and replied, "Sorry kid, but I really got nothing. Welp it's late as hell, so let's get this all settled first thing in the morning. Night kids!"
Mike, Ray, and Jameson had all then gone to their rooms for the night. The only one's still in the main room were Thomas and Tori. Thomas quickly reached into his backpack and began to excitedly write in his notebook.
With her hands in her coat pockets, Tori looked down at Thomas and asked with her eyebrow raised, "What'cha doing yo?" While still writing in his notebook, Thomas replied, "Just documenting theories. By the way, why do you always talk in third person and say 'yo'?"
Tori looked surprised, as if she was caught off guard by the question. "Cuz that's what Tori likes to do yo! Gotta problem!?" "No not really," replied Thomas nonchalantly as he began to brainstorm. "Whatever yo. Night lil weirdo," said Tori as she walked off.
"Goodnight!" Thomas yelled back in response. As he continued documenting whilst sitting on the floor, he suddenly caught a glimpse of something in the corner of his left eye. When he turned, there was nothing there though. That was, until suddenly, Thomas felt something tap his right shoulder. This made him jump as he quickly got up and turned to the right. Nobody was there. But, Thomas did find something.
There was a tiny ripped piece of notebook paper up on the cabin window. Thomas went over and curiously picked up the tiny piece of paper. He noticed some blood on it. There was a word on it though, covered in the blood. Thomas quickly reached for his bag and pulled out a magnify glass. Upon further inspection, Thomas found out the note read, "Tree."
This made Thomas smirk, as he quickly repacked his backpack and pulled out his flashlight. Heading to the door, Thomas said to himself, "Welp I'm gonna die. But if it's for the sake of discovery, let's go!"
