Three:

Time passed quickly after the football game. As max presumed it was boring and Lucas was in a really upset mood. After that Max spent every day after school practicing for volleyball. She didn't worry about it much at first but now she brought herself the thought that she needed to be best. She didn't know where this determination came from. Max threw the ball up, about to hit it in her lawn, as she sneezed and the ball hit her head, bouncing off and out of the lawn, down the street.
"Shit!" Max yelped, chasing the ball along the road. She finally caught it and realized how far she was from her house. A humming sound started to fill her ears. She looked up, glancing at objects for the sound and noticed a person walking towards her way on the roadside. Max squinted to see it was Jane walking. She was humming a song Max didn't recognize, but it was pretty. Jane had headphones in and was not aware Max spotted her. She wore long jeans that dragged a bit on the ground with with sneakers and a red worn down t shirt. A hat was placed in her head because she had ears sensitive to cold. She walked along the street unaware of Max and then strolled out of Max's sight. Max fought the voice inside her telling herself to follow Jane. She came to conclusion that was creepy and went back home.

When she entered her house Billy was on the phone. She set down her volleyball as Billy spoke.

"Yeah she's here right now actually." Billy handed Max the phone and walked off to his room.

"Hello?" Asked Max into the phone.

"Hey Max...it's Mike."

"Hey Mike, what are you doing?"

"I need to talk to you. Is there anyone hearing us?"

"Nope." Max assured.

"Okay. I-I need to tell you this because everyone else will ask questions." Mike whined.

"Okay Mike just spit it out!" Max was getting impatient.

"Okay okay. So, a few years ago...Will went missing."

"Yeah I know. We aren't supposed to talk about that though?"

"I know but it's important in what I'm trying to say."

"Continue."

"Anyways, when Will went missing, this strange girl showed up. She wouldn't speak, had a tattoo on her wrist of a number. She was scared, wet from the rain, and had a shaved head."

"How'd she show up?"

"When we were looking for Will we found her. We took her in because she looked the same age as us and scared. Her and I talked a bit as she started speaking, and she lived in my basement with Nancy's clothes for her own. She also wore a blonde wig."

"Why?"

"She was scared if her identity being revealed. There was bad men after her she kept speaking about. Later we found out, she could move things...with her mind."

"What? Mike are you joking?"

"I'm not I swear! And the bad guys needed her for her powers. Anyways, we found out what took Will. While my mom and the sherif went to find Will, the girl killed the thing that took Will. But she disappeared with it."

"Wow, Mike."

"Will ended up being found. And everything went back to normal. Except for years I kept thinking about the girl. It was...insane."

"What's the point of telling me all this?" Max asked, eyeing the time. It was almost dinner.

"Because, the other day...the days I told everyone my grandma was sick so I was busy...I actually saw the girl again."
