It was the next day, the four girls were sitting down at the breakfast table trying not to let their curiosity about what happened that night get the best of them.
"So..." Avery suddenly spoke up at the very quiet group of girls, "who's ready to kill some sexy titans?" Avery asked.
Lola perked up at the mention of fighting titans, "Ave, you can't fight." She motioned to her knee brace.
"Commander Hanji said I was good to go though," Avery huffed while crossing her arms.
Klaudia's eyes bore into the brunette haired girl, "How did you even injure it?" Fee nodded, the others were curious as they weren't told what happened to their friend.
"My stupid ODM gear broke during training.." She mumbled, poking the food on her plate around with the fork in her hand.
Lola placed her arm around Avery's shoulders as she brought her in for a side hug.
"Just be careful okay?" Fee whispered to the girl who gave her a small nod.
The table fell silent once again at a not so positive topic was talked about.
Once the girls finished eating they were assigned to go outside and get their horses and gear on and get ready to go.
The mission that was happening today was a fairly small one. Only Hanji and Levi's squad were going along with the support squad for the survey corps. The mission was fairly easy: capture two titans and bring them back for Hanji to study. Of course Fee and Lola were already in Levi's squad but Erwin insisted that Klaudia and Avery join. Some of the newest recruits were coming on the trip including titan boy, Eren Yeager.
Fee and Lola got onto their horses and moved over towards their squad. Avery looked over at the two girls with a small smile and a wave which they returned back. Levi looked back at Lola who felt his gaze on her and gave him a small smile. He motioned her with his hand to get up in the front with him.
"What's up Cap?" She asked with a cheerful grin.
He looked at her with no emotion but his eyes were softened, "Remember my orders?"
She nodded, "Don't die," He nodded and led the squads towards wall Maria.
During the ride there, Klaudia could see Avery in pain everytime the horse moved from the unevenness of the roads.
"You okay?" Avery looked up from the back of her horse to look over at her friend with a smile.
"Of course bestie."
Once the squads were in the town, the support squad went first through the route, clearing the paths of the titans roaming around the area because the wall was destroyed. Levi's squad went up to the top of the wall to get a clear view of the whole area. Hanji's squad was down on the roofs of the houses with the gear to capture the titans getting set up. Some of the new recruits stayed on the roofs of the abandoned houses waiting to see a titan appear.
"Once Hanji gets the gear all ready, they will fire the signal to get ready." Levi stated to his team. "We don't kill them but we cut the arms and legs off so they are unable to move or kill anyone." The team nodded.
Avery was leaning against a chimney to take a breather with her injured leg, she could deal with the pain.
"Hey are you okay?" A soft voice from behind her spoke. She turned around to see a boy with blonde hair looking at her concerned.
She gave him a small smile and patted her leg, "Yeah... all good," He didn't look convinced.
"You're injured... why are you on this mission?" He asked causing Avery to sigh.
