5 years later...
"So do you want your dumplings that I made or am I gonna eat it?" Levi asked Lola as he kept his hold on the girl. She nodded as she took the bowl from the nightstand next to them and started eating.
Levi brought the sheets of the bed on top of them so she wouldn't freeze to death. While Lola was caught up in eating her food, she didn't realize how Levi had moved closer towards her as he draped a leg over her. Her bare legs that she didn't realize were freezing, felt a rush of warmth when he moved his leg over hers.
"What are you doing?" She asked as he set her bowl down next to them and wrapped an arm around her torso. He softly hummed as he laid his head down on her torso causing her too blush.
"I wanted to hang out with my girl." He whispered as he used his free hand to flip through movies to watch. Lola turned away to hide her blush which failed miserably.
He felt the small movements of her looking away which caused him to look up at her. Lola felt two soft fingers cup her chin as he turned her towards him. She looked directly at him as she saw his face inches away from hers. His eyes flickering down to her lips but quickly averted back to her eyes.
"Don't look away from me, you're adorable," He spoke in a hushed voice which made Lola's heart skip a beat. He started to lean in as Lola couldn't help but close her eyes and lean in. She felt his soft lips press against her forehead for a couple of seconds.
"What was that for?" Lola asked as she looked at him with a confused look. He couldn't help but chuckle as he looked back at the tv.
"Nothing sweetheart, eat your food." She sighed as she took a bite from her food and sat back against the bed frame.
"Want to watch Frozen?" He asked, looking over at her for approval. She nodded as he slid his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Lola couldn't help the blush rising on her cheeks.
"Let's begin!" She squealed as she clapped her hands together like a little girl.
Levi wrapped his arms around her securely as he let his head rest in the crook of her neck. She felt safe, a feeling of warmth spreaded through her body as nothing but the thought of him was on her mind.
"WAKE UP!" She heard a muffled voice scream as she felt herself being shaken awake. Lola opened her eyes to see the movie credits rolling, and Levi laying next to her. She turned over to see Gon staring at her with a raised eyebrow. She sighed and gave him a small.
"What would you like kid?" His eyes gleamed as he started to jump up and down. The boy had so much energy all the time.
A year after the final battle with the titans happened, Gon and Killua came back with Chrollo. They had been stubborn with the troupes and wanted to stay with Fee and Lola. Levi and Lola adopted Gon while Fee and Jean decided to adopt Killua.
Connie wanted to open a small bakery in memory of Sasha while the other half of the bakery was run by Armin with a library. Mikasa had ended up living with Armin and Connie in a tiny house near the beach.
"Can we go visit Fee and Killua?" Lola laughed before nodding even though the two went to go visit them not even 24 hours ago.
As Lola and Gon stepped outside, the sun had already set completely and the stars were shining through the sky. The cold breeze hit her as she took Gon's hand and turned around to see Levi locking the front door with a light grey jacket on. He walked over towards the two and took Gon's free hand as the three walked down the street.
-
After about a 10 minute walk of Gon complaining and a bunch of "are we there yet" questions, they finally made it. Lola took in the gorgeous view of the tiny cottage in front of them.
The door flung open as Fee stood in the doorway. Lola stared at the girl in awe. She had her light brown hair that was pulled into a nice messy bun, her eyes stood out as she wore jeans that were splattered in paint with a white t shirt that had yellow splotches of paint as well.
"Hey Mr shor-
She immediately shut up when Levi gave her a death glare. The girl put on a smile as she turned towards Lola.
"HI THERE BESTIE!" The girl squealed as she drew Lola into a hug. Lola laughed as she felt a warm tint of red crawl onto her cheeks, returning the tight hug between the two. Gon raced in the house as he caught sight of Killua who was sitting on the couch next to Jean.
Lola noticed how comfy and warm the cottage looked. She saw two canvases which must've been Fee's art spot, the fireplace was lit up and Jean was sitting on the couch watching a soccer game on the tv. Once the door shut the man turned to look at who was here.
"Babe, come here!" Fee said as Jean got up from the couch and walked over towards her. He planted a kiss on Fee's forehead as he turned to look at Levi and Lola.
"Nice to see you again you guys." He smiles as he gave a small nod to him.
"What brings you guys here again?" Fee asked as she linked arms with Lola. Lola laughed and nodded towards Gon who was tackling with Killua laughing.
"Those two are inseparable." Jean said with an impressed look on his face. "Maybe we will take in Gon as well." He jokes as Lola rolled her eyes at the man.
Levi
"He's being cocky because he finally went to the store to get stuff." She whispered to Lola who couldn't help but smile at the cute couple.
The two girls chatted in the kitchen as the others were seated around the soccer game. Lola excused herself to go to the bathroom as Fee walked over towards the two men and kids.
"I think Lola and I are gonna go for a walk while you two watch the game." Fee spoke as Jean wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her onto the couch, Levi ate a cookie while paying attention to the game. Fee noticed Lola was back as she punched Levi in the shoulder to gain his attention who death glared at Fee.
Levi stood still as he took in Lola's beauty. He knew he was falling in love with her every second. She looked stunning.
"Y-you look gorgeous darling. " He breathed out as Lola couldn't help but blush. Fee and Jean squealed at how cute this moment was. Levi couldn't hide the smile present on his face.
"Sorry to ruin the moment but Lola and I are going on a walk." Fee interrupted as the two pulled apart, Lola's face flushed.
As the two walked down the street from Fee's house in comfortable silence, watching the snow fall on the streets. Lola couldn't help but think about all the moments of their lives before this.
"Fee?" She hummed in response as they both walked up the path to the beach that was covered in snow.
"Do you think they are at peace?" She whispers as she turns to face her. "Do you think they know we are okay?" Fee looked over at her and shook her head.
"They know." Fee started, keeping her eyes on the moonlight reflecting off the waves.
"To be honest, I bet Klaudia and Avery are bickering over uno games while Farlan is teaching Isabel how to play." She finished, laughing softly at the image in her head as Lola stayed silent.
"What's going through your head?" She asked as she looked deep in thought. She shook his head and gave her a smile.
"You'll always stay with me... right?" Fee stared at the girl with a pained smile.
"Always," Fee murmured as she pulled Lola into a small hug, Lola leaning her head onto her best friends shoulder. Fee stared at the girl.
Fee then realized in that moment that even when the world was collapsing, the only thing that really mattered to her was that Lola was alive. And this was all she needed. Having Lola here with me. When she was alone, Lola was always there. But for now, Fee was just thankful she had Lola with her.
"At least you're here with me.." Lola whispered as the two stared off at the waves crashing against the rocks.
