It is morning; the dwarves are hiking along the path away from Rivendell. "Be on your guard; we're about to step over the edge of the Wild. Balin, you know these paths; lead on." Thorin says. "Aye." Balin answers. Bilbo turns around and looks back at Rivendell longingly. "We should have waited for Silveria," he says quietly.
"Master Baggins, I suggest you keep up," Thorin says. The dwarves and Bilbo continue on their journey. In Rivendell, Gandalf and Galadriel are the only ones remaining in the pavilion. Silveria is a little away, floating in the winds that blow thru the valley. She's in her dragon form, but it's a medium size. Like a big horse. "You will follow them?" Galadriel asks and looks at Silveria, playing with birds in the air.
"Yes." Gandalf answers, and his eyes are alp on the young dragon. "She's loyal to you." Galadriel states. "She'll meet her kind soon. What do you see when you look at her Gandalf?" Galadriel asks as she turns to face the wizard. "She's a young fellow who's done nothing yo deserve the rudeness of world. I believe she'll be a big help to us all." Gandalf says. Galadriel nods.
"She will, she will may help you against Smaug." Their conversation slides onto the subject of Thorin Oakenshield. "You are right to help Thorin Oakenshield. But I fear this quest has set in motion forces we do not yet understand. The riddle of the Morgul blade must be answered. Something moves in the shadows, unseen, hidden from our sight. It will not show itself, not yet. But every day, it grows in strength. You must be careful." Galadriel says. Gandalf agrees.
Gandalf turns and starts walking away. When he has gone a short distance, Galadriel speaks again. "Mithrandir? Why the Halfling?" "I don't know. Saruman believes that only great power can hold evil in check. But that is not what I have found. I've found it is the small things, everyday deeds of ordinary folk, that keep the darkness at bay. Simple acts of kindness and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? Perhaps it is because I am afraid, and he gives me courage." Gandalf says.
Silveria is now on the pavilion, listing to their conversation. Galadriel suddenly appears in front of Gandalf, and she takes his old, weary hands in hers. "Do not be afraid, Mithrandir." She says in his mind. "You are not alone." She says aloud. Galadriel tucks a loose strand of Gandalf's hair back. "Ae boe i le eliathon, im tulithon." [subtitle: If you should ever need my help, I will come.] she says in elvish. Gandalf bows and Galadriel gently moves her hands away from his. Gandalf looks up, and Galadriel has disappeared.
Gandalf sigh. Silveria suddenly appears beside him, a hand gently stroking his arm. "You okay, naflopsola?" Gandalf nods and smiles at her. "Let's find those dwarves," he says.

Many scenic shots of the Dwarves and Bilbo were hiking through the wilderness of Middle-earth, over ranges, mountains, and plains.
They are crossing the Misty Mountains; the trail is narrow and dangerous, with a cliff on one side and a sheer drop. There is a fierce storm in the air, with lightning and rain all around. "Hold on!" Thorin yells. As Bilbo walks, the stone beneath his feet gives away, and he starts falling into the chasm; Dwalin manages to pull him back in time."We must find shelter!" Thorin call. "Watch out!" Dwalin suddenly exclaims as The Dwarves look up and see a massive boulder hurtling through the air; it hits the mountainside above them, causing rocks to fall all around them as they press themselves against the mountain. "This is no thunderstorm; it's a thunder battle! Look!" Balin says. A stone giant rears up from a nearby mountain; it rips off a massive boulder from the top of the hill.
"Well, bless me, the legends are true. Giants; Stone Giants!" Bofur exclaims. "Take cover: you'll fall!" Thorin says. "What's happening?" Kili asks. Giant #1 throws the boulder far in the air; another stone giant, #2, appears from behind the Company, and it is hit in the head. The dwarves yell at each other to brace and hold on, and the rocks beneath their feet begin to give way from all the vibrations and the impact of the falling rocks. The ground between some of the Company members splits; part of the group is on one side, and position on the other.
