Ch. 6 I Love You

Jordan felt nervous butterflies fill her stomach as she craned her neck up at her not so happy giant boyfriend. Dan had found out about Jordan and Dino getting a late lunch together at La Casa Delle Riunioni, the restaurant his family owned, and the place Dan and Jordan went for their first date. Dan looked down at Jordan with his arms crossed over his massive chest, waiting for her to explain herself.

"Do you want to tell me why you and Dino went on a DATE today?" Dan's deep voice growled.

Jordan had never seen or received this type of tone from Dan. and it was making her extremely nervous. While she didn't believe Dan would hurt her, he was still a scary person to see so upset. Jordan involuntarily took a few steps back from Dan as she began to answer.

"W-we were just catching up."

"Over a bottle of wine?" Dan retorted, taking a rumbling step closer to Jordan.

Finally Jordan felt her back touch the wall behind her. She looked up at Dan's massive and angry form, and felt a hot tear against her cheek. Jordan's knees shook as she tried to think of what to say next.

Once Dan realized how frightened Jordan had become he immediately dropped his intensity and crouched down to be closer to Jordan's size. Of course, now more than ever, Dan still towered over Jordan even while kneeling. He felt bad for scaring her. He'd grown so comfortable around her that he forgot how frightening he must seem.

"Hey. it's okay, I'm sorry I seemed upset. I'm not," Dan tried speaking in a calming tone as he went to reach out to Jordan. Jordan flinched at Dan's approaching hand, that could definitely pick her up on it's own now.

While standing, Jordan didn't even make it to the top of Dan's knee. Seeing his massive hand reach for her made Jordan jump from it's approach. What had Jordan gotten herself into, she thought as her body continued to involuntarily tremble.

Dan was crestfallen seeing how letting his emotions get the better of him for just a moment left Jordan so frightened.

"Hey, It's okay. I'm sorry if I scared you. I'm not mad at all. I'm just happy to see you," Dan explained as he raised his hands up for the universal sign of innocence.

"Y-your not mad?"

"Nope. I'm now just mad at myself for scaring you," Dan sadly admitted. Right on cue, Dan stomach let out the loudest rumble Jordan had ever heard. Dan's face turned red, embarrassed from his loud admission of hunger. Of course Dan was famished after growing even more today at the thought of Dino stealing Jordan. "Want to head to the kitchen and talk over dinner. I am not upset at all. I'd never do anything to harm you, I promise," Dan cooed.

Finally Jordan agreed on a whisper as she went to follow Dan into the familiar kitchen, she'd been spending more and more time in with Dan, as his appetite seemed to grow along with his size. Walking next to Dan now proved difficult as his strides were far longer than they'd been a few weeks ago. Jordan half jogged to keep up with him, finding that once close to him she struggled to keep her balance as his vibrative footsteps shook the floor beneath her, eventually causing her to completely stumble to the ground. Dan looked down, seeing Jordan on the ground, looking like she'd tripped.

"Are you okay? Did you trip?"

"Oof. Yeah, I was just trying to keep up... you've got the advantage on the walking speed I'm afraid."

Dan once again was silently kicking himself for not being more mindful of his strides. Once again proof of how comfortable he was around Jordan by now. However, Dan told himself to be much more careful moving forward, for given their size difference now, Dan really couldn't afford to make a mis-step.
