Luna sighed and sat down in her seat, finally able to relax after being swarmed by paparazzi all day. She pulled her shades up on her head and took a selfie before sending it to the group chat. Her first meeting of the day with a rep from DC comics ran later than anticipated considering they wanted her to work on another song on the soundtrack, Sway with Me, with a new artist, Galxara. Therefore, she'd decided to treat her team to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant she frequented often when she was in town.
"So, Luna, how has soulmate life been treating you?" Kimmy, her creative director, asks when they've all ordered their food.
Luna smiles, thinking back to the way she woke up that morning—quite literally sandwiched between Hobi and Joon. Once her alarm had gone off, both men groaned and held on tighter, not wanting to let her go. She felt bad that she didn't have more time to cuddle, but had to pry herself out of their grips anyways. She'd kissed them both all over their faces, making them groan in their sleepy states, but secretly they loved it. They were both extra cuddly after their shower that morning, both men clinging to her. Snapping out of her thoughts, she finally answers—the delay making Lola giggle beside her.
"Amazingly," she replies, giggling and nudging Lola in the side.
"They're so sweet, it's sickening," Lola says, making them laugh.
"Yeah, they look at her like she hung the moon," Drew says, faking a shiver of disgust.
"More like she is the moon," Lola adds, leaning back to high five him.
"Aww, LuLu's shy. Leave her alone y'all. She's in love," her style coordinator, Mr. Jae says, making her cover her face.
"Not you blushing and being all sweet after what you did last night," her set coordinator, Shae, says, narrowing her eyes at her playfully as she sipped her drink.
"Y'all know I'm the sweetest, until I'm not. Sometimes people need to be reminded," she shrugs.
"Last night? Is that what the paps been talking about today?" Drew asks and she nods.
"You didn't hear it?" Lola asks, leaning up to see his face.
"Hear what? Now I'm nosey. I saw something about you having a lil exchange of words with the man who shall not be named at this table, but I didn't pay it any mind," Mr. Jae asks, ready for the tea.
"She ate both him and Sky's ass up in a freestyle last night. Shit was so raw I felt disrespected," Shae says, fanning herself.
"I thought I was the only one. I said damn, double homicide. I hate it for them," Kimmy chuckles.
"What? This was after I left last night? I knew you wasn't gonna let that shit slide," Drew grins, clapping his hands.
"Chile, I gotta listen now. He been talking slick for a while now. I knew it wouldn't be long before you got him and that whisper singing ass child of his together," Mr. Jae hoots, making her laugh.
"Man, I missed y'all," Luna grins, sitting back with her arms crossed as he and Drew pull up the live from last night and watch it.
In such a calm state now, she could hear the venom in her words as they played them back. A very small part part of her felt bad. She would've loved to have just put everything about them and that company in her past, but they'd been the ones to force her hand. She was tired of people taking her kindness for weakness and using her for clout. If you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.
"Oooh Kitana," Drew exclaims, putting his fist up to his mouth as he hopped from one foot to the other.
"Ha! Girl I'm so proud of you! This is the artist they've been trying to oppress. I'm so glad you reminded them who the fuck you are. Please rap more often," Mr. Jae says, hitting the table with his hand.
