The missing piece

Chapter 2

Rowan's pov

I'm Rowan Sharp but most people call me Don or Boss, I'm the leader of the Vendetta Mafia.
We try to help people that have been wronged. You can almost say we are "good" assassins.
And yes we do, do business with other gangs but we try to make this a better place. At the same time we have to make people think we are very dangerous or what we are doing wouldn't work.

I've found my two soulmates but still haven't found our last soulmate. Don't get me wrong I really love Joseph (Joe) and Matthew but it just feels like something is missing.
We've talked about this before and they feel the same way. It has been years and we kind of just stopped looking, we feel like we will find them when they want to be found.

I was driving home from a meeting and I was excited to see my boyfriends at home but then I saw someone limping down the sidewalk. Usually I wouldn't bother but I was having a good day so I pulled over to see if I could help.

"Hey, are you okay?!" Once he turned around I saw how bad he actually looked. It's like he got hit by a bus.

"Oh, y-yeah I'm fine, I-I just got in a l-little fight with my boyfriend." I could hear the pain in his voice and wait a second did he just say he got in a fight with his boyfriend?

"Your boyfriend did this to you?"
His eyes went wide and he was looking everywhere except at me.

"Shit" I don't think he meant to say that out loud.

He turned around but he went too fast and started swaying. I got out of the car and caught him before he could fall and brought him to my car. Up close he kind of looks cute... wait I can't be thinking that.

I can't believe someone that is supposed to care about you can do something like this to someone so small and adorable.
Usually I would just bring him to a hospital but if I think about it I can't be seen there for obvious reasons so I'm gonna bring him to my house and let Joseph check on him.

I don't know why but I feel a slight connection to him and I don't even know his name.

Rowan lifted Alex out of the car and ran to his house, he was getting worried because Alexander has been unconscious for a while and that didn't sit right with him.

He walked into the living room and saw Matthew sitting on the couch watching his favorite disney movie. Rowan smiled to him self and remembered how childish Matt can be.

Then he remembered the unconscious man in his arm and looked at Matthew and said
"Where's Joe?"
Matthew turned around, upset that he didn't get the usual sweet greeting. "A hello would be ni...woah who is that? Please tell me you didn't hit someone with your car."
Rowan was starting to get annoyed.
"No I didn't hit anyone with my car, I found him like this, now please tell me where Joe is or at least get him for me. He's been unconscious for a while now."

Now knowing that this is serious he got up from the couch. "Yeah right, he's in the kitchen. I'll go get him!"
"Thank you, babe" Rowan said relieved.

Joe came running in the living room, surprised by what he saw. "Rowan who is this and what the hell happened?!"
"Look, right now I just want you to see if he's ok and help with the cuts and I'll tell you guys later, ok?"
"Fine." Joe huffed.

After Joe was done he carried Alexander to their guest room and just couldn't help but think, that the man in his arms is actually pretty attractive but he couldn't wait for Rowan's explanation, so he suppressed those thoughts and went back downstairs. He had a stern look on his face and asked Rowan.
"So again who is he and what happened?"
Rowan chuckled "Joe, hun, you don't need to get jealous. I was driving home from the meeting when I saw him on the sidewalk limping so I..." Before he could finish Matthew interrupted. "So you thought to bring him here?"

Rowan knew that they thought the mystery man was attractive or they wouldn't be acting all worked up about him helping someone.
"Babe, you guys have to calm down, please. And let me finish" Matthew and Joe looked down and nodded.

On that note Rowan continued. "As I was saying, I saw him limping so I pulled over to ask if he was okay. And he proceeded to say he was fine..." "Obviously not" Joe cut in.

Rowan gave Joe a stern look for cutting him off, in which Joe gave a small sorry.
"The thing that made me angry was that he accidentally said that his boyfriend did that to him."
Matt gave a confused look. "What do you mean by "accidentally"?"

"He said, him and is boyfriend got into a fight and when he realized what he said, his eyes went wide and he couldn't look at me."

They couldn't believe that Alex was so afraid of his boyfriend that he would freak out if someone found out. To be honest they couldn't blame him, his boyfriend did a real number on him and they kind of have the feeling, this wasn't the first time.

Matt broke the silence. "Uhmm soo...how long is he going to stay here? I mean he's a stranger, we don't know him that well."

Rowan saw that Joe was about to say something so he spoke before Joseph could.

"We are just gonna help him out, until he feels better and then we'll bring him home."
Joe sighed "Sounds fine to me, Matt?"
"Yeah sounds good"

That's when they decided to go upstairs and check on the mystery man.
