Rowan's pov
It's almost eight thirty, Ben should be dropping Alexander off in 10 minutes. He already told us he's not ready for us to meet Ben yet and I respect that but I honestly can't wait to meet the guy Alexander speaks so fondly of.
Joe and I are currently making dinner while Matt is setting the table, he said he wanted to make it look special so we aren't allowed to go in the dining room yet.
Once we were all done with what we were doing, we went into the living room, put on a movie and waited for Alexander. Even though we haven't known him for a long time and he hasn't been gone that long we missed him. We just want to get to know him better and I really hope he lets us.
I was just about to go get a glass of water when we heard a knock on the door. I went to open the door but first I took a deep breath. Once the door was open, I see Alexander looking down at his feet like he's trying to avoid eye contact. I bend down so I can look at his face but then he looked to the side.
"Alexander...look at me." He slowly makes eye contact. I notice he's starting to tear up. "Baby what's wrong?" Before he can even answer I pick him up with his legs around my waist. Immediately he puts his arms around my neck and I carry him over to the couch. I go to sit between Matt and Joe, while Alexander is still straddling me.
At first Joe and Matt looked excited but once they saw Alexander's face, they got worried.
Once my hand touched Alexander's thigh, his eyes snapped up and it's like he realized just now how we were sitting.
"No no no, this is wrong I-I can't be doing this."
"What are you talking about?" Matt took the words right out of my mouth.
"What can't you be doing?"
He got off of my lap and stood in front of us.After a few seconds he started to speak again.
"We barely know each other, we're not together. T-this shouldn't be happening."
Joe, Matt and I all looked at each other. We all could tell, that this whole situation was so unknown to Alexander, that he's starting to overthink and is basically confused.
Joe stood up and walked toward Alexander. They were only a few inches apart and Joe grabbed Alexander's chin and made him look at him.
"W-what are you d-doing?"
Joe didn't say a word and just stood in front of him, looking him in the eyes.It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. They stood there for maybe 5 minutes, just looking at each other. You could tell that Alexander was confused and nervous at first but after a while he gave in and relaxed.
I used to do this with Joe, when he would panic. It lets both people forget about what was happening and they concentrate on each other. It makes both their minds go blank.A while later Matt stood up, walked over to Alex and put his hand in his and guided him back to the couch.
Matt and Alex were still holding hands, when Matt started to speak.
"Do you want to tell us what's wrong or do you want to talk with Rowan alone first?"Alexander looked at me and said he would talk about everything with everyone.
I noticed he didn't know where to start so I took the lead.
"Did I make you uncomfortable that night?"He looked surprised and immediately said something. "No! It's not that, I think I was just overwhelmed. Y-you made me feel something I've n-never felt before. And I think I felt like I was doing something wrong, was because Stefan always made me feel like I was." Once he started talking, it got easier and easier for him to open up.
"I honestly didn't want to make you feel like you did something wrong or like you overstepped. I'm so sorry. I just really don't know how this whole thing works, with dating multiple people."
"Alexander, baby you don't have to apologize, we get it. The only thing we want is for you to feel comfortable and safe." I saw a hint of a smile after I said that. We were making progress.
"If you want, you can set the pace and we follow." Alex looked over to Matt and answered him.
"Actually, I'd rather you guys take control."
"Oh, don't worry we will." I smirked at him and he blushed. That blush will be the death of me.
All of a sudden I felt a smack on the Bach of my head.
"What was that for?" Joe looked at me seriously and said "You know what." I winked at him and he rolled his eyes. Then I heard a small giggle from Alexander. "Oh so you think that's funny?" At first he looked a little scared but than I smiled at him and he relaxed.
To ease the small tension I went over to Alex, picked him up and started walking to the dinning room.
"W-where are we going?"
"Well Matt decked the table and made it all fancy for dinner so we're going to eat." Once we walked through the door we were shocked. There were candles and flowers everywhere and he took out the nice plates we use for special occasions.
Alexander was in awe. Matt looked over to him and got all excited. This was probably one of the cutest moments I've ever witnessed.
Me and Joe sat next to each other and Matt and Alex were across from us.
The rest of the night went well and we got to know each other a little more. When we went to bed Alex still wanted to sleep in the guest room, which is totally fine. I know the next few day will be a little rough and we still have to figure things out, but we are all excited. We'll take it as it comes and we'll all do it together.
