Under NO Circumstances...

Bruce was getting ready for a "Save the Seas" gala with all of Gotham's Best and Brightest. Alfred dusted off the suit's broad shoulders, as Bruce tied a bowtie. He talked with Dick.

"Under NO circumstances are you boys going out in all of this. It's bad enough Batman is off for the weekend and Kate is taking over the city, so-"

"Exactly!" Dick stressed. "If you're gone, the city needs us MORE."

Bruce turned away from the mirror. "Katherine Kane is taking over our jurisdiction. Nothing horrendous should happen whilst I'm gone. It's ONE weekend. We dock back on Sunday evening. I expect you all home." He picked up a leather suitcase. "Now, go pick your brothers up from school and go out to get some food. Enjoy yourselves and be kids for the weekend. And don't crash the Porsche."

Quickly, Dick caught the car keys and rolled his eyes.

"And one more thing- watch-"

"The controls from time to time." Dick finished. "I know. Dad, I've done this for a decade."

"Right." Bruce sighed. "Okay, I'm off. If ANYTHING goes wrong. Call Alfred and Selina can come over to watch the youngers."

After Dick waited a few minutes, he checked his watch and saw that he was late to pick his brothers up. He flipped down the stairs now that no one could tell him not to. He grumbled to himself about how annoying his father's strict rule could be.

"Get in the car, losers." Dick said, pulling up. He had waited in a line of cars. Damian had just gotten a phone and made sure to spam Dick.

L8.
WE R WAITING
STILL.

Damian, I'm ON MY WAY

DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE, GRAYSON!

"Finally!" Damian shouted, throwing open the front door, to which Jason picked up the youngest by the backpack and threw him to the ground. "I sit in the front seat."

Tim got in behind Dick and Damian sat behind Jason, occasionally kicking the seat to antagonize his brother.

"Thanks, Dick, for picking us up even though we're a pain in the ass." Dick said, trying to prompt his brothers.

"You were late." Damian reminded.

Tim leaned forward. "What's the schedule?"

"There is no schedule. Under no circumstances and we allowed out, apparently."

The younger three collectively sighed and groaned.

"That blows!" Damian screamed over his music, which, despite with headphones, his brothers could all hear. It was Chinese pop music. Damian was panicked that he'd lose his childhood languages and had a playlist of all kinds of Asian and Middle Eastern rap music to work out to. It was annoying to constantly hear, though. Bruce didn't tale away Damian's phone at night- just the charger so that the kid would inevitably fall asleep.

"We're going out to eat. Where do you want to eat?"

"I dunno." Jason muttered.

"Anywhere is fine." Tim said.

"WHAT WAS THE QUESTION?!" Damian asked.

Dick gripped the steering wheel. "Thank you for your decisive actions. If we were in the field right now, we'd be DEAD."

"Fine. Someplace with an arcade."

"Joe's it is." Dick decided, turning left. He drove for a couple of minutes and finally they arrived. Tim took his backpack out of the car to try and do some homework while Jason shot things on a screen and Damian fiddled on his phone, which only really had family in the contacts, He had been trying to get into the group chat, but Jay and Tim didn't want him in it and it was two against one, not in favor of Dick.

When they finished eating and Dick checked his father's credit card realized his brothers collectively spend $200. It was time to leave and head home.

It was weird having no Alfred. No Bruce. They dropped their backpacks. It was cold outside and so it was dark fairly quick. They gathered in the Cave and listened to the police radio.

Possibly arsonist on main street-

"Can we-"

"NO." Dick replied to his brothers.

A man, dressed as a clown has been escorted to-

"Let's go." Jason seethed.

"I'm going with." Damian announced.

"I'll run controls from the Batmobile." Tim volunteered.

"One important thing, GUYS." DIck warned. "Dad's cousin Kate is running our jurisdiction."

Jason waved Dick off. "So we'll stay out of her way."

Dick groaned. "Great. We'll kick ass and then get OURS beat." Regardless, he turned the keys to his bike and Damian jumped on the back.
