I let out a groan as I heard chatting before nothing, I was about to drift off back asleep when I felt a sharp jab to my side making me wince. My eyes shot open when I heard a deep growl and glanced about, I was at the bar still or thought so as it was empty now. I rubbed my eyes as I lifted my head the growling only picking up, I peered about for the source and saw Grillby narrowing his eyes at an apologetic Sans.

"Did I fall asleep?" I asked groggily as I watched the two snap their heads to me. Sans seemed scared while Grillby gaze angrily till our eyes locked and his shoulders started to relax. I didn't notice now but his fists were clenched like he was gonna punch Sans.

"What time is it?" I asked my head throbbing from the sudden waking. I was shocked, to say the least when I saw it was 3 am on my phone. I silently cursed to myself it's pitch black right now there's no way I can walk home now. I heard movement and peeked up to see Grillby crossing his arms as he looked at Sans again giving him the deadliest glare I've ever seen. When he caught my gaze he seemed to soften a little like he didn't want me to see this side of him. I sighed thinking how I was gonna get home without the risk of getting kidnapped or worse, I was so engrossed thinking I didn't see a familiar fire elemental walk over to me.

"You're staying here for the night no but's about it," Grillby said in a really demanding way which kinda turned me on. I shook the thoughts from my head before looking up at him, he was crossing his arms once more giving me a stern look. I went to protest only to be met with a slight as if he was challenging me to disobey to which I shrunk back a bit seeing it. His stern look softened when he saw my reaction but still held a silent sternness, I wordlessly nodded agreeing to his command making him seem to loosen up.

"Sans. Out." I was shocked to hear how low-toned the bartender's voice got when commanding the skeleton out. I watched Sans give a thumbs up before disappearing most likely teleporting home the traitor. Grillby turned his attention back to me when Sans left, he motioned for me to follow as he came around from the bar. I slid off my seat following after him as I was led to the back wall before turning to find a flight of stairs. It was super dark like there wasn't a light making me bump into Grillby who paused to look at me. He held a hand out which I graciously took before going back to walking leading me through the darkness. His hand felt warm compared to my cold skin which he seemed to notice by the look he was giving me as he walked. The flight of stairs seemed like forever till I noticed Grillby stopped and then heard a click of a door opening. I had to squint a bit as light flooded my vision making me take a step closer to Grillby.

"Easy, (Y/N) I'm right here," Grillby said coaxing me inside making my eyes adjust to the scenery change. He had a nice little modern one-floor apartment with thick curtains exposing a balcony in the back, I saw there was a connecting kitchen and living room with a lone hallway to what I assumed was the restroom and bedroom. The floor was hardwood with a soft carpet in the living room that had a lone coffee table in the middle. The kitchen was black marble with grey and white cabinets, it had a fridge, oven set, and two sinks joined together. The couch was white with colored pillows decorating it and a recliner sat next to it against the wall. It felt homey compared to the chaotic flat that I needed to clean, I noticed Grillby smiling at me as I took in his living space. I knew he was smiling by the thin white line of his mouth turned upward and how his eyes were softened into ovals, unlike their normal narrow slits.

"I'll take the couch, you can have the bed tonight," Grillby said letting my hand go making me wanna grab it again for the missing warmth. I was going to protest i can take the couch when i saw his challenging slit eyes once more though it wasn't as harsh as before. I sheepishly nodded before following behind him down the hall till we rested the end and he opened the door to the right revealing a king-size bed. It was a lot bigger than the full size i had at my flat and seemed super comfy though guilt ate me up for taking his bed.
