Today is Greyson's birthday and he didn't even tell me. I had to learn this from Titus. From what I know, he doesn't like to celebrate it, but this is his first birthday with me so I have to make it special.
"Mary, calm down. You're pregnant with twins. Eight months to be exact. Stress isn't good for them." Reina said as she hung up a streamer. I don't know what came over me, but for some reason, that made me mad.
"I know I'm a fucking whale, Reina. You don't have to rub it in," I sassed and tried to stand up but a sharp pain took over me and Reina was there to help me sit back down. I've been having aches like this all day so she has been assisting me with setting up."I'm sorry-" I sighed and she gave me an understanding smile.
"It's okay. Now, are you sure there's nothing I can do for you?" I shook my head and rested my hands on my now huge belly. "You don't need anything to drink?" She asked and I realized how much I had been craving blood.
"Some blood would be nice." I requested politely.
When Grey first turned me, he was riddled with guilt. He couldn't even look me in the eye for more than five seconds without getting angry at himself. It took months of communication and love to get where we are now and I'm super proud of him. The thirst was definitely the hardest part though. It was tough at first, but I think that I've got it down to a science... for now. "Thank you." I chirped when she threw me a blood bag. She finished up the rest of the decorations and helped me to stand in the middle of the dance floor.
"Oh come on. Stop drinking that. They're going to be here any second." She scolded, but I was too hungry. She eventually just snatched it away from me and when I tried to protest, the doors swung open. There, I saw Titus' hands over Grey's eyes as he carefully led him down the steps.
"Titus, let me go. I have work to do." Grey complained.
"Bullshit, you're the king now. I'm pretty sure they have some kind of contingency plan or something," He looked at me and grinned. Titus held a little bit of a grudge after what happened to Reina, but I made Grey apologize and now they are closer than ever. "Alright, you can open your eyes now." He removed his hands from Grey's face and his reaction was priceless.
Reina popped a confetti popper while I waved my hands in the air. "Surprise!" I squealed, seeing his smile grow wider by the second as he looked at all the different decorations. Titus patted his back and pushed him forward.
"Say something, you idiot."
But he just slowly walked up to me and engulfed me in his arms. Which was admittedly hard due to the big watermelon between us. "How did you know it was my birthday?" He whispered into my hair.
"Titus," I smirked. He turned around and glanced at him only to see him shrug his shoulders. A slow song began playing on the speakers and I only had one thought on my mind. The last time I danced with Grey was at the Midnight Gala. It would be nice to have another moment like that. "May I have this dance, love?" I asked and held out my hand.
"Of course," He grinned and took it. He spun me around and pulled my back to his chest while we swayed to the music. Placing his large hands over my stomach. "You look stunning." He whispered in my ear. I was wearing a velvet maroon dress with generous cleavage and tasteful slits running up both of my legs to my mid-thigh.
"I know." I smiled and he chuckled.
After a while, I noticed that Titus and Reina disappeared somewhere, but I didn't care. All I cared about was the man standing in front of me. He somehow dipped me low to the ground and when I started laughing, he kissed my neck repeatedly, making me laugh even more. He left one last kiss on my neck and pulled me up.
I kissed his lips before leading him to the table that had his birthday cake on it and as soon as he saw it, his eyes lit up like a child on Christmas morning. "You remembered how old I am?"
"Why wouldn't I?" I asked, but he shook his head. I sang him a very bad rendition of 'Happy Birthday' and he blew out his candles. The pain came again, but I ignored it and fed him a piece of his cake. Soon, the slice was finished and he pecked my lips. "What did you wish for?"
"I can't tell you that." He said like it was the most preposterous thing ever.
"Why?"
"Because then it wouldn't come true," He smirked. I rolled my eyes and stood up to throw away his plate only for him to pull me into another hug. "I love you." He whispered.
"I love you too." I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck to pull him even closer.
Suddenly, a gush of water rushed between my legs. Causing me to gasp in fear and excitement. "Are you ok?" He asked now that I was basically leaning on him for support.
"I think... I think it's the babies." I laughed but the smile was immediately wiped off my face when I felt the worst pain of my life. "Why are you just standing there? Get me to the hospital!" I wailed and it was like a switch flipped in his head.
"Shit!" He cursed and picked me up. "Just breathe, my love. It will all be over soon." He tried to comfort, but all I could do was grip his collar and scream. It stopped for a little while but came back just as quickly as it left.
"Oh my God!" I gasped as he settled me into the car. Once he sat in the driver's seat, he fumbled with the key a little before shoving it into the ignition and peeling out of the parkway. "Grey, drive faster!" I grabbed his hand and squeezed as hard as I could but he seemed to ignore the pain and silently followed my command. "Ah!"
"We're almost there, my love." He said softly as the sharpness started to dissipate. I laid my head back against the seat and took deep breaths just as the next wave hit. By then, Grey pulled into the hospital and rushed out of the car to carried me inside. "She's giving birth!" He yelled just as a bunch of men approached us. They all pulled me from his grip and took me into some room. I didn't know where I was, but they laid me on a bed and told me that the contractions were too close for an epidural and I would be giving birth within a few hours.
What am I going to do?
