"Be careful." Jungkook muttered and pulled jimin to his side. He held his hands and guided both of them forward. Jimin seemed so lost coming out after so long. For the past six months he has only gone home and then came back to the hospital.
And today the couple were advised to go out and clear their minds. Their friends and family reached the edge convincing the couple. Jin said he will look after Soohee and later Taehyung, his cousin and jimin's best friend would take over.
Maybe it was irresponsible of them to do this when they have their precious daughter lying on the hospital bed barely breathing. But they deserved a break. Jimin's condition could no longer handle the tension. His health was deteriorating, and jungkook has noticed it. This might lead to a miscarriage, and surely jimin wouldn't be able to handle loosing both of his kids.
November 13th
The couple came to the seaside. Jimin has always loved the sea, so did soohee.
"Sit here. I will bring something to eat." Jungkook said before leaving. He could hardly take his eyes away from jimin. He smiled bitterly as every realization hit him reminding him just how messed up their situation is.
Jimin sat down slowly. He looked around, there were couples all over the places, kids were playing around the shore. It was peaceful yet lively. The gust of wind that blowed suddenly was so cold, jimin shivered a little before rubbing himself trying to get some warmth.
The ocean was calm like any other day. It was so calm that it looked dead. Jimin looked ahead at the waves in the distance. He found himself relaxing as the sound of the waves reached his ears.
"Here." Jungkook came back with two cups of strawberry milk. He sat down beside jimin.
"What's so fascinating?" He asked jimin who was lost in the ocean. His eyes refused to look away.
"It's so lively there. But why does it also look dead near the shore?" Jimin asked, maybe not to jungkook. He asked to no one in particular.
"The ocean is always alive. But sometimes it needs rest. We should let the ocean rest." Jungkook said clearly knowing it didn't make sense. He didn't intend it to make sense, he simply said what he felt like could've been the reason.
Maybe his heart wanted that to be the answer.
"What will we do without soohee?" Jimin asked turning to his husband. Slowly jimin has started accepting the fact that they have to let soohee go.
"What we did before she was in our life. Our next baby could be our soohee." Jungkook answered.
"No. No one can be our soohee." Jimin looked down fiddling with his sleeves. He grinned ever so slightly. He turned to jungkook and his eyes were already on jimin.
"You're right." Jungkook smiled.
They both knew that it was clearly breaking their hearts. But their faces were smiling. Smiling so glumly.
"A new chapter is what Yoongi hyung said. Who will write that chapter?" Jimin questioned.
"Our baby." Jungkook replied.
At the answer, jimin's heart really calmed down. A unknown comfort settled in his heart. Maybe their baby would really start a new chapter in their lives. But soohee would always be a chapter that they will remember for the rest of their lives. She would always be their source of hope and happiness.
Probably the world didn't plan on keeping her for long, she will always live in her parent's hearts. Soohee will leave them but her memories would always be present in their hearts until they die.
Without uttering another word, jimin pressed his lips on jungkook's.
Jungkook wasn't shocked. He slowly held the younger, kissed him back. He also felt the wetness of jimin's cheek. Jungkook caressed jimin's cheek, wiping the tears. It would be a shame to cry.
The couple pulled away after a while. Jungkook slowly took jimin's hand, rubbing them to provide warmth. Jimin melted into the moment, laying his head on jungkook's shoulder.
"Let's go closer." Jungkook said.
Walking on the sandy beach reminded jimin of so many memories. Every summer they use to come to the beach, it was a every summer thing. Soohee enjoyed being near the ocean. The little girl was always fascinated by the grand unending ocean. She would always say that she would one day set out to discover the ocean. Although childishly, she was determined.
It wasn't particularly sunny today. It was more like the sun was playing hide and seek. The clouds were hovering over them.
Jimin subconsciously neared the water. An urge to go in was tempting him but soon he was pulled back by jungkook.
"It's cold." He said.
"But I wanna be near the water." Jimin said. Like a child jimin refuse to listen to jungkook, his feets craved the sensation of being in the water.
"If you insist so much. We have no choice." Jungkook replied and picked jimin up in bridal style. He took off his shoes and went in.
"Is this good enough?" Jungkook asked. Jimin nodded with a smile.
Jungkook started running slowly making jimin hold onto him tighter. The older giggled as he spun themselves. Jimin burst out in laughter. He was delighted.
The two didn't care if people were looking at them strangely. They were probably wondering why would someone go into that cold water in this weather. Only jimin and jungkook knew how peaceful it.
"Over there would be our soohee always looking at us." Jimin mumbled as jungkook stopped. Jimin pointed at the sky.
"She would be with us forever." Jungkook said. And really for the first time a smile played across his face, a happy smile.
