In a flash Florence appeared at the entrance of a large mansion, a large brick fence wrapping its way around it. Florence peeked open her eyes, the look of shock plastered across her round face.

"This is your new home now," the bald man said. "It's a safe place where you don't have to hide your special abilities."

Florence only had to glance at the man to see he wasn't lying. Only when he started wheeling away was when she really started questioning this place.

'What is this place? Why is it so big? Are there any other children that killed their brothers like me?' She thought.

The blue devil carefully nudged Florence forward making her trip up a bit. Dusting herself off, Florence caught up with the bald man.

He led her inside the mansion keeping at a slow pace so Florence didn't have to run. The first thing to catch the brunettes eyes were the people.

People of all shapes, sizes and colour were everywhere heading out of separate rooms. They walked tiredly around the place everywhere. 'Probably just woke up' she thought.

She was calmly following the man in the wheelchair until she heard whimpering to her left. Slowing her pace down she carefully listened, it sounded like crying.

She followed to where the sound led her, into a small room with a little bed to the side. On that bed was a girl. A young girl. Florence felt odd, as if she wanted to cry too.

Feeling drawn to the child she quietly walked toward her. When the girl looked up her eyes widened in embarrassment. Florence continued to walk to the girl, staring blankly.

She sat on the side of her bed and wrapped an arm around her in comfort, the corners of her lips raised just slightly.

"Thank you," the small girl said.

A young boy suddenly burst into the room, he had crazy silver hair and goggles hanging around his neck.

"There you are, Charles is looking for you," he said.

He stuck his hand out toward Florence who reluctantly took it. 'Seriously you need to stop taking random peoples hands'.

He led her to a room with two big oak doors placed perfectly in-line with the hall. He opened the door revealing a huge space, full of books and shelves and one big desk in the centre.

A group of people were placed around the desk, looking up when they heard the door open. The strange boy let go of her hand and when she didn't move he gently pushed her forward.

"Florence you don't have to be afraid of us," bald man said. "I'm sure you're wondering who we are correct?." She nodded. "We are the X-Men. And this, is a school for Mutants, like yourself."

"What is a Mutant?," she asked, slowly as to not accidentally offend anybody.

"A Mutant is a human that is born with a genetic mutation called the X-Gene. The X-Gene causes their body to develop abilities that no other boring human can." he explained. "Now listen Florence I'm going to ask you to do something that might be very hard to do, but you must try, ok?."

Her brows furrowed in confusion, as she nodded her head.

"Good," he said as he wheeled himself over to her. "I need to you to use your powers."

Florence looked up at the man, or Charles, and shook her head violently. Feeling overwhelmed, Florence backed away from him hitting the wall behind her wanting nothing more but to be back home with her family. Family. The word made her feel sick.

She wanted to cry, to hide.

"It's alright, you're not going to hurt us," Charles beckoned.

"I will."

Charles looked down in thought. He turned to the other people in the room.

"Hold hands."

"Wh-."

"Just hold hands, please."

The others did as they were told, grabbing onto each others hands forming a half circle, Charles across from her, holding onto two other hands.

"Take there hands Florence," he said.

She took the two strangers hands next to her, the one on her right being the silver haired boy.

"Everyone close your eyes," he commanded. "Florence I need you to relax, let me in."

As she relaxed she tried not to think or feel anything.

"Florence, think about what happened yesterday."

Everything flooded in at that moment, her and her brothers eating dinner and laughing, her walking into the basement. Her seeing the white light, the feelings she felt, the strength she gained. Her brothers arguing, her telling them off. Her brothers saying their own separate goodnights. Her being told her brother went to war, her crying out for her fading brother. Her running out of her house, getting found at night in the rainy alleyway.

The others gasped, possibly even almost cried. She opened her eyes, letting go of the strangers hands. She just want to go home.

"I think if I feel a feeling too strong I can make people disappear," she said.
