CHAPTER 10

A few days later Dumbledore came with the news that Sirius was going to have a process to prove he was innocent. Everyone was happy about that.

"This means that after this I won't have to hide anymore?"

"Well, you won't have to hide from the Ministry, but you'll have to be careful on Death Eaters."

"Can we come to watch it?" Harry asked.

"Of course you can."

The process day came soon and a lot of wizards and witches known by us were using the underground. Harry and Hermione were exchanging looks and smiling at each other. Nobody of their friends knew how to use it, except from Remus, who was patiently explaining to Sirius the need of the ticket. No need to say that he was failing.

When they arrived, Sirius sat on his chair, uncomfortable.

"Alright," Fudge said "I'm pretty busy, as today is my last day as a minister, so I don't want to waste time. It'll be short. Weasley, give me some veritaserum."

Percy handed him a vial. Fudge gave him to Sirius, who drank it.

"Did you betray the Potters?"

"No, I didn't. It was Peter Pettigrew, their secret keeper."

"Weren't you the secret keeper?"

"No, I wasn't."

"Have you ever killed or tortured anyone?"

"No, never."

"Are you a Death Eater?"

"No, I never was, I am not and I'll never be."

"I think that's enough. Absolved."

Everyone got up and started to clap. Harry ran to Sirius and hugged him.

"Well done, Padfoot!" Remus said.

"We're going to have a big party, aren't we?"

"Yes, we are."

They were going to leave the room, when there was a flash of green light. The door opened and a lot of Death Eaters came in. Everyone took a wand and started to fight.

Spells were flying everywhere. Everyone was fighting, including the Wizengamot. The Death Eaters decided to go back. Everyone was going to be happy, when they heard a shout.

"Remus!" Tonks screamed.

They looked around and found that the werewolf wasn't with them anymore.
