Bri's POV

Jay told me that he peeped Shootah checking for Kira and I peeped it too. I persuaded him to make his way back to the dance floor. "You wanna go dance again? Let's let everybody else get acquainted." He smiled at me as if he caught on to what I was doing. "Oh, so you think you slick huh? I like that. Come on ma," he said before grabbing my hand. I could tell Jay was smooth and that he was trouble. I'm sure he had plenty of hoes. I mean look at him. I wasn't tripping though. I had my share of men too. My brothers taught me the game. I was the baby girl and I had three older brothers. You do the math. I watched them dog females throughout the years and they never sugar coated anything with me either so I knew better. The game was strictly all talk my way though. I wasn't fucking these niggas unless they were really mine. You had to be real special to get close to me like that. Besides, I'm not looking for a relationship. There wasn't a rule I couldn't have a little fun though.

My baby daddy got me fucked up. He didn't  even know that I was sitting in the Spot looking right at him. I sent him a text when my man wasn't paying attention. I saw Shootah look right at my message without a reply. I knew he seen it by the look on his face. I don't know why he treats me like this. I mean I have a man and a couple other niggas but at the end of the day, hell I wanted him. "You good bae?" my boyfriend Derrick asked."Yeah, I'm good baby," I said before giving him a kiss. I wasn't good though. I was pissed. I got into an argument with Shootah earlier because I wouldn't let him get Alanah. As always, he got mad and start ignoring me. He really didn't want to talk to me unless it had something to do with her and I wasn't having that shit.
I met Shootah fresh out of high school. At the time, he was making his way to the top of the city. Everybody knew him. I was crazy about him honestly and the whole hood knew it. We rocked for a few years and I ended up pregnant. Everything was good at first until after I had my baby. It was my fault though. I cheated on him and he found out. I felt bad but he had his share of doing me dirty too. He didn't even make it official with me until after I got pregnant anyway. There was no need to act like he was innocent because he wasn't. At the end of the day, we still could have worked it out. He wasn't trying to do that though. It didn't even matter because he would feel me one way or another.
I was sitting on Derrick's lap dancing to the music when I looked up to see him talking to some girl in his section. "Who the fuck is that?" I said under my breathe. Shootah was lucky I was here with my man. Any other time, I would confront him head on. Him and whoever  that bitch was would most definitely be seeing me.

Kira's POV

Bri dragged me over to a section Jay and his homeboys had. It was one in particular guy that caught my eye. Jay introduced us and I heard him say his name was Shootah. Shootah was so attractive. I could tell he was at least 6'0 even sitting down. His dreads rested on his shoulders under his cap that he had  pulled to the back. He had on all black, with a gold watch and a few gold chains. His short sleeve shirt showcased off his muscular caramel toned arms and tattoos. He wasn't too big, but not too small either. I could tell from his demeanor that he was more than likely  a drug dealer. I was a good girl but I had my share of his kind. I never judged though but I was pretty much over that stage of life. I was about to graduate as a registered nurse. I had a good head on my shoulders and had some good things going. I wasn't trying to mess that up. Plus, I had learned my lesson and my heart did too. I  wasn't here for that anyway. I just came to have fun.
I was in the section talking to Bri and this girl named Drea we had just met. She seemed pretty cool. I looked up to see Shootah looking right at me. I smiled and looked the other way before continuing to talk to Bri and Drea. Eventually Bri and Drea left me to go on the dance floor with Jay and Marcus. I sat and vibed to the music until I felt a body beside mine. The smell of cologne rushed through my nose. "Say, your name Kira right?" It was Shootah. I looked him right in the eyes. I couldn't help but smile. I shook my head yes. "Shootah, right?" I asked. He replied yeah. We begin talking. You would have thought we already knew each other. The conversation flowed so freely.
Honestly, I had been through a lot with the love shit and I was over it. That's why I was so focused on getting money and constantly bettering myself. It had been so long since I had even gave a man the time of day honestly. They were always trying but I always denied them the attention. It was just something about Shootah though. I knew the possibilities of dealing with somebody like him.I knew better. I knew I should have probably cut the conversation short. I knew I should have probably gone the other way but I was drawn to him like a mot to a light. It was just one night of fun though. A little conversation wouldn't hurt right?
