I was running late for my evening class because traffic was hectic coming from work. My professor was always making smart remarks and today wasn't the day. I had a very long day at work and this traffic didn't make it any better. On top of traffic being hectic, I knew it would be hard to find a parking spot but I tried my best to remain calm. I was tired. Working and going to school was so hard sometimes but I had shit to do. I was all about my money honestly. I was almost done with nursing school and also did hair on the side whenever I was off work. I didn't have any kids so I had a lot of time on my hands. Why not make good use ya know?
I turned the music up a little bit louder in my 2020 Jeep and sing along to my Favorite Summer Walker song. "so won't you say my name, say my name...if you say you want me. It ain't no thing. You acting kinda shady. You ain't been calling baby. Boy you should stop playing games..playing gamesss" My phone began to ring and my best friend Brianna's picture popped up. I swear it seem like she always waited until I began vibing to my music in the car before she decided to call me. "Wyd bitch?" Was all I heard before I could even answer after pressing the accept button. "Girl nothing on my way to class. Wassup?" I replied. "You trying to go out tonight? There's a party at the spot. We gotta go". I laughed under my breathe because she loved to go out! I was the friend that just wanted to go to work and come home. I wouldn't mind going out from time to time but it wasn't really my thing. Brianna and I had been friends since high school. I call her Bri for short. We were cool in high school but college really brought us closer. She was like my sister & I loved her to death. "Don't be laughing at me. We going out!", she said. She already knew what I was thinking. "Girl, I guess. I think I have an outfit at home I haven't even worn." Bri then told me she would be at my apartment around 8 so we could drink wine, vibe, and get ready together. I couldn't even lie. She most definitely had the right timing because I needed a little outing. I pulled into the parking garage and was luckily able to find a parking spot. As I walked into the class, I heard my professor discussing the last senior thesis. The due date was coming up soon. I was listening but not much because mine was already done. The professor cut her eyes at me but didn't say anything. Lucky for her because today would have been the day I embarrassed her. I guess she read the look on my face and caught the hint. She continued to discuss the assignment for a little longer and went on to answer questions other students had. Class went by pretty fast. She even let us out early . Tonight may just be a good night. After leaving class, I headed home to touch up and straighten my hair because I already knew Bri would want me to fix hers too. I had a bone straight 24' inch sew in so I didn't have to do much but touch up my frontal. If I waited to try to do hers and mines, we most definitely wouldn't get to that party until around 1. My nails were already done thanks to Brianna. I had simple short white ombré nails with a bling nail on each hand. She was a BEAST with the nails. Bri was one of the best nail techs in Atlanta. She even had her own suite. Hell, I could hardly get an appointment but she always made room for me. I hit the highway and headed to my apartment to handle my business.
Brianna's POV
I was running around Lenox mall trying to find something to wear. I had persuaded my girl to go out with me tonight. I was happy as hell because she rarely goes out! Kira was like my sister. We had been tight for years now. Kira had been through a whole lot so she was always hustling to keep her mind right. That's why it was up to me to help give her ass a break. I knew she needed it. That's why I called her about this party. It was around 5 and I was going to her house later on to get ready. I was hungry too so I needed to get something quick because I knew traffic would be crazy and I didn't have time to stop anywhere else. I was walking toward the food court trying to figure out what I wanted. Some chic fil A sounded good. I guess I was too far gone in my thoughts because I almost got knocked over to the ground. "What the hell!" I was about to start cussing until I looked up and seen this light skin tatted god looking down at me. "I'm sorry love. You good?" Jesus, this man was fine. He had pretty white teeth with a clean cut. He was dressed with a simple white tee but his shoes were on point and he wore a Rolex on his wrist. Not to mention he smelled soo GOOD. I had to snap out my thoughts. "Yes, I'm fine. Thank you." He smiled and said, "what's your name ma?" I smiled back softly. For some odd reason, he was making me very shy. I've never had this problem so I don't know what I had going on. "My name is Brianna." He laughed as if he read my mind. "No reason to be shy. My name is Jay though." I begin to laugh. "Well, Jay you almost knocked me over." I couldn't have this man thinking he had me going off into Wonderland. He replied and said, "Yeah. Maybe you can give me your number so I can make up for it by taking you out." I smiled before tilting my head to the side, giving him a "oh really?" Sort of look. He laughed before rubbing his face and sizing me up playing it cool. Oh, so he was smooth huh? He didn't even know yet but I was even more smooth than him. We exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. I went on to Chic fil A before leaving and heading towards my townhouse. I had to go pick up my shoes I was going to wear with the outfit I bought from the mall. I had just gotten my hair did earlier this week so there wasn't much to do to it. I had a really long wet and wavy hair frontal install. I also did my nails yesterday after all of my appointments. I had long pink nails with chunks of diamond crystals. It was a little extra but still cute and settle. I was so excited that Kira was going out. It had been a minute since we had really spent time together. She was always busy and I was too but we were most definitely getting lit tonighttt!
