"Should our visit go well and we become allies, this is the room I'd personally like to use for a celebratory ball."

Konan was showing us the few remaining rooms of the castle after breakfast. Sasori, Hidan, and Obito joined us as well. I was walking in between Obito and Sasuke, chatting quietly with the prince's cousin once in a while. Sasori and Hidan were walking silently behind us, while Ino, Sai, and Konan led the pack.

"It's not quite as big as our other ballroom, but I find its charm more appealing."

I glanced over at Sasuke and tried to stop myself from frowning. After our incredibly intimate encounter last night, I thought he'd be in a slightly better mood than he has been lately because I definitely was. The reality was quite the opposite. His agitation was almost palpable as we half-listened to Ino and the queen gush over the white marble flooring.

"Did you have any trouble resting last night? I've heard it's difficult for humans to sleep in unfamiliar locations," Obito distracted me from my thoughts by speaking softly in a concerned voice.

I offered him a small smile, "That's true for a lot of people. I feel fine, thank you."

A snicker was muffled behind us and we both glanced back to see Hidan covering his mouth. For some reason, the silver-haired vampire both terrified and annoyed me to no end.

"Is something funny, Sir?" I did my best to maintain my polite composure.

Purple eyes narrowed as they locked onto mine and his expression fell into one reminiscent of amusement. Luckily, he spoke in a barely audible whisper, "Our lovely guest may have had trouble sleeping, but she had no trouble performing for the prince."

Both my and Obito's faces immediately blushed bright red, but Sasuke turned to threaten the advisor before either of us could respond, "Don't think that I won't kill you simply because I'm a visitor to this city."

My mouth fell open slightly in disbelief at his blatant disregard for diplomacy. We were strictly warned not to anger any members of the royal family while in Amegakure, but he didn't seem to care.

Hidan's lips turned up into a cocky grin, reminding me ever so slightly of Madara before his change in character, "Topics like this are normal and frequent within vampire households so why are you so against it?"

Even if I was incredibly uncomfortable talking about anything sex related so openly, he had a point. Vampires love two things: blood and sex. It's common knowledge to those aware of the species' existence that those topics are popular for discussion.

Ino even told me that Konoha is one of the only cities where vampires don't feed and mate with humans out in the open. Not only that, but the Uchihas are one of the only pure-blooded families that practice monogamy. How they've managed to maintain their secret for this long is a mystery.

Instead of responding to Hidan, Sasuke spoke more loudly than before to garner our guide's attention, "Let's skip the formalities and address the true reason behind our visit."

I wanted to squeeze my eyes shut in dread, but didn't dare blink.

Konan, on the other hand, looked as though she'd been expecting this outburst, "Of course, Sasuke. If that's what you want to do then we shall."

Ino shot her brother in law a glare as Sai once again accepted her arm and we followed Amegakure's queen out of the ballroom, through the castle, and into her husband's office where he sat behind a large mahogany desk. He appeared to have been waiting for us to arrive.
