Wishing to be Lonely Together

I wish you would notice me.
I wish you would glance my way during class.
I do my best to stand out yet you never stop to wonder about me.
You always have somewhere to go,
Someone else to talk to.
I'm insignificant.
Just another face in the crowd.
I wish I wasn't so lonely.
You are flanked by fiends,
Distracting you,
Yet you still seem so sad.
I glimpse it in what you write,
In those words that you expect to be forgotten forever.
Doesn't anyone else see?
I wish you would let me in.
I don't know what you think of me.
I don't know if you love me or hate me or think I'm annoying or simply don't know I exist.
When you look at me,
Do you see what I see when I look at you?
Because I see a broken girl.
And that's what I am.
