"Hey, baby. So, listen, if spring training goes well, we could be moving to Florida," Mum says, trying to get us on board with the plan.

"Mom, where's your cell?" Bella asks, as we hear the automated voice telling her to insert some money to extend the call.

"Okay, don't laugh. I didn't lose my power cord, it ran away," Bella laughs.

"I can so relate, Mom. I hate it when my power cord just disappears without warning," I reply lazily, and both of them burst into laughter.

"Screaming. I literally repel technology now."

"I miss you," Bella says, and I decide it's time to leave them to their mother-daughter bonding. I get up, and Bella grabs me gently. I shrug awkwardly, and she understands, leaving me be as she continues to talk to Mom. I've never been Mom's favorite, but she's never treated me badly because of that. It's just that she's always paid more attention to Bella. But Bella turned out to be a great sister, and I'm grateful for that. I change into my pajamas, switch off the lights, and go to sleep, lighting a black candle before that.

It was a good day.
