Edward drives me to the hospital, while Bella is escorted by an ambulance. Once we arrive at the hospital and get out of Bella's truck, I catch up to Edward.

"Hey, um... Edward, thanks for saving Bella today, I really appreciate it," I mumble, knowing he can hear me crystal clear.

"Oh, yeah, sure, don't even mention it. You made a severe dent in the car as well, you know," he replies with a cocky smile. I break into a small laugh. I go to where Bella is.

"Hey," she greets me.

"Hi, Bells. How are you doing?"

"Nothing happened to me. I saw what Edward did. And I saw what you did as well." My heart skips a beat. Does she know?

"W-what did I do?"

"You stopped the car-"

"Bella. You okay?" We hear Dad come into the room. I sigh in relief.

"You and I are gonna talk," he says to the guy who lost control of his van. "Are you all right?" He says back to Bella,

"Are you okay, Y/N?"

"I was out of the way, to be honest, Dad," I reply, and Bella looks at me with a piercing gaze.
"I'm fine, Dad. Calm down," Bella replies.

"I'm sorry, Bella. I tried to stop," the guy says, desperate for Bella's forgiveness.

"I know. It's okay-"

"No, it sure as hell is not okay," Dad says.

"Dad, it wasn't his fault."

"You could've been killed. You understand that?"

"Yes. But I wasn't, so..."

"You can kiss your license goodbye."

"Gosh, Dad," I say under my breath, and Bella laughs.

"I heard the chief's daughter was here," a doctor says, entering the ER.

"Dr. Cullen," Dad says. Ah, so this is Mr. Cullen.

"Charlie." He greets Dad.

"I've got this one, Jackie."

"Isabella."

"Bella," she corrects him.

"Well, Bella, looks like you took quite the spill. How do you feel?"

"Good."

"Look here." He conducts an examination for her eyes.

"You might experience some post-traumatic stress or disorientation, but your vitals look good. No signs of any head trauma. I think you'll be just fine," he assures.

"I'm so sorry, Bella. I'm really-" Tyler says, but before he could finish, Dad aggressively draws open the curtain.

"You know, it would've been a whole lot worse if Edward wasn't there. He knocked me out of the way," more like he knocked the van out of the way.

"Edward? Your boy?" Dad asks Mr. Cullen, but he doesn't reply.

"Yeah, it was amazing." Bella continues, "I mean, he got to me so fast. He was nowhere near me," a little more weight in her tone now. I subconsciously clear my throat.

"Sounds like you were very lucky," Carlisle replies. "Magical, to say the least," he looks at me and I gulp.

"Charlie." We walk out of the ER.

"I gotta go sign some paperwork. You should... you should probably call Mom," Dad says to Bella.

"Did you tell her?" Bella asks in a tone of dissatisfaction. It could've been me too, but she knows why it wasn't me. Charlie gives a "duh" shrug, implying he did, and Bella groans.

"She's probably just... freaking out," she takes out her phone and dials Mom's number. I go to the nearby bench and wait for both of them to be done with their stuff. I look up to see Edward and Bella talking, and I look away, not wanting to listen in on their conversation. I walk out of the hospital and sit on the hood of Bella's truck.
