Third Person ~POV~

The island of Divinus Magia, a home to reformed criminals, and those still working on clearing their names. And home to a Guild of powerful, feared wizards, sorcerers and mages. One of such is Mario, a Dragon Slayer who had gotten mixed up in the wrong group, and with the wrong people, and had found himself here.
Mario, despite his cold exterior and unfriendly demeanour, had a dilemma. Currently, Divinus Magia was hosting another Guild, the Protectors, after the death of their Guild master. Their stand in leader had claimed it as a means of protection for their newer mages, as well as a way to share training methods and assist each other in strengthening their magic and physical abilities.
But that's not the issue here. The issue is that, despite Mario's very best efforts at deterring the Protectors from becoming overly friendly with him... well, might as well show you what's been happening.

Mario huffed out a sigh as he passed through the arch that led out towards Divinus Magias guest house, where Brandon and Ritchie, his Guild leaders, asked him to go to find Lo'pho, the Protectors leader. He paused outside it's doors, looking up at the tall, almost imposing building, before slouching forwards and banging his fist against the door. He waited. And waited. And waited... and waited. Ten minutes, and nobody answered. With a low growl, he pushed the door open and could immediately hear the commotion that was coming from the opposite end of the building, where the kitchen was set, along with a sitting area. Blurs of colour rushed around, and he could spot Bryan, the Fire Dragon Slayer of the Protectors, Jakey, a time wizard, Kay, a girl possessing transformation magic, and one of his own Guild members, Kit, a fire mage. The scent of flower and sugar assaulted his senses, and he couldn't help but grimace.
Ritchie was going to find out they were making more cookies– or as he called it, 'contraband'.
With a frown settling over his face, he moved further into the building, and was noticed first by Bryan as the other turned his nose to the air and sniffed, head whipping around to face him soon after.

"Mario! Hey!" He greeted, bounding over and linking an arm around the others, dragging him towards the kitchen. Bryan was oblivious to the way Mario tensed up beneath his grip, missing the way the others knuckles turned white from where he dug his nails into his palms.
"You're just in time! The others were trying a new recipe they said was less heavy in sugar! Give it a try!"

Once they both entered and re-entered the kitchen, the other three turned their way. When Bryan had released his arm, Kit was by his side in an instant, her hand clasping onto his wrist as she then led him to the island they were working at.

"Hi Mario!" Kay said with a bright grin, flour covering her shirt and dusted into her hair. She bounded towards him and gave his other arm a quick hug, patting his shoulder as she moved away again. She didn't feel the small flinch that shook him the first time her hand landed on his shoulder.

"W...What b-brings you h-here?" Jakey asked, bending down to scoop up his fuzzy animal friend, Oliver, a creature of unknown origins.
None of them caught onto the moment of pause Mario took to compose himself before he once more turned to them.

"Ritchie and Brandon sent me out here to find Lo'pho," he started, gently taking his hand back from Kit's grip before continuing. "Is he in the building?"
