Series - Origins of Olympus
Ship - Xylo x Mario (screw the cannon stuff. Apologies if you actually ship Kay x Mario tho)
Topic - Fluff (subclass: sickness)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It was a beautiful morning. The birds were up and moving, filling the air with their small songs. Crickets and grasshoppers were adding their own chirping to the music, creating a calming cacophony.
Everyone slowly began to rise from their slumber, embracing the day with open arms. Ah, what a wonderful way to wak—"Hurk!" Oh, yes. Right. We, uh, decided someone would be ill today. Haha... whoops.
Ahem. Let's uh, focus on our sick friend, shall we?Mario was currently arising to the sun blaring in through the few windows in his cabin. He squinted into the light angrily, a headache throbbing at his temples. His stomach was also churning, despite the lack of food. He groaned, pulling the blankets over his head to block out the light, shivering.
Waking up ill had surprised the son of Zeus. He has an oddly strong immune system, and is rarely ever sick.
Of course, there are those off occasions where he does catch something. And when he does, oho boy, you best get some god damn morphine, cause it is painful to see how terrible he gets.
He gets every symptom tied to that illness. It's nearly impossible for him to sleep due to how bad his fevers are. There literally has to be several bins near him due to the amount of times he empties his stomach. His mom could probably go broke due to the amount of tissues he needs. And the smallest, I mean smallest, amount of medicine can make him completely loopy. It's quite entertaining, really.
Er, uh, anyways, Mario was currently feeling like absolute heck. He was freezing, couldn't breath through his nose, had a headache, and the pain in his throat was unbearable. And that's all he could feel while still lying in bed.
Mario hated getting sick. Not just because he felt terrible, but because he also felt useless, being stuck in bed and unable to do anything. So, with the power of self-resolve and determination— nah, it's pure adrenaline— Mario is able to, normally, power through a day like any other. For a while.
But this is Camp Oasis. Every day here isn't like any other. And today is no exception.
It was scheduled between a bunch of people. They would do sparring matches today, under the watchful eye of Micheal, of course. And to miss out would result in a lot of trouble for him. Because, Micheal, y'know? His list of things that anger him is taller than himself.
Haha. Anyway, Mario quickly folded his blanket down, groaning as he sat up against the light of the oh so beautiful day.
Give him a gun and he'd hunt down every bird in the camp. Scratch that, he'll probably skeet shoot them with his electricity. If he could control it.
Sparks were currently popping off of his form as he stood from his bed, sending the lamp on the table into a frenzy.
Great, now he has his powers to account for.Mario doubled over, a hand clamping around his mouth while the other went around his abdomen, trying to quell the need to vomit, eyes squeezing shut as the floor spun beneath him, almost lurching forwards.
Okay, no food for a while.
Once he was stable, he quickly stood straight, changing from the clothes he slept in to something more comfortable, something that his mom had sent him after learning he was now in the camp. It was basic black sweat pants. Thankfully, they weren't baggy, and fit comfortably against his legs. Next on was a simple long-sleeved blue T-shirt.
A small, soft warmth spread through him at the familiar feeling of his own clothes, and he was grateful his mom knew exactly what he needed to survive here.
Feeling, slightly, ready for the day— he was in no way ready at all— he quickly grabbed his sword and sheath, making his way out of his cabin and through the living area he was located in.
To the Arena!
