My heart felt like it dropped a little when I saw the news. The man that I killed has been declared missing. This means they may find his body soon. All I could do was hope that they didn't.
I gagged and got up from the couch running to the bathroom. This had to be the first and last time this happened, or else I'll definitely look guilty of something. I threw up in the first bathroom stall I could get to.
After I washed my mouth off and my hands I went back to the hospital room.
"You okay?" Mia and Sammy said at the same time.
"I'm fine. I'm just gonna go get some fresh air, is that okay?" I replied.
"Don't go far." Mia said to me.
I headed down to the hospital lobby just to step outside and breathe. I sat on the wall close to the ground but not completely touching it and just put my head into my knees.
"Everything good with you?" Said a male voice, as I saw Bordeaux 7's approaching me while my head was down. I looked up and it was a boy who looked a little bit but not too much older than me standing in the way of the sun so that I couldn't see his face. He reached his hand out to me and I took it, getting up.
"You look like you need to get away." He smiled at me with his white teeth. He looked like he was Hispanic with his light skin and loose man bun; but he still had a thick Atlanta accent. He had freckles splattered unevenly on his face which made him cuter.
"Boy I don't know you. But thanks." I said to him, returning a friendly smile.
"I could tell you were pretty even with your head down but you look even better than I had imagined. I'm Ricardo. I seen you around school a few times but you was always with uh what's his name." He said to me.
"Yeah, that was my boyfriend. But thanks, I'm Olive. I guess it's nice to meet you." I nervous laughed.
"You guess?" He replied.
"I mean how nice can it really be meeting at a hospital?" I said. He laughed a cute laugh. "What brings you here anyway?" I continued.
"One of my brothers got shot." He replied, solemnly. "He good though."
"Oh my sister just got shot too. She good too." I replied.
I guess that was something to bond over?
"That's good to hear. You hungry?" He asked. I thought for a moment.
"I could eat." I said. "But... I still don't know you."
"Calm down, we just going to the cafeteria in the hospital." He said, looking at me with his dark brown eyes.
"Oh. Okay." I blushed as we walked back inside the hospital to the cafeteria.
We sat down and then he went and got us cheeseburgers and fries.
"What grade you in anyway?" I asked him, dipping my fry in ketchup.
"I'm about to be a senior. And what grade are you in?" He asked.
"I'm about to be a junior." I replied.
"Oh I remember them days." He replied.
"Yeah cause they was just last year." I rolled my eyes.
"You gon see what I'm talkin bout next year." He continued, "So you said what's his name was your boyfriend. Is that past tense?"
"To be honest, I don't know right now." I said.
I mean, I literally just found out my boyfriend is gay. Or bi. I don't fucking know. That picture of him kissing Jasiah still hasn't left my mind... but we still haven't talked about it.
