{Chapter 9}

I sat up with a jolt. I turned to figure out what woke me up and I spotted my phone vibrating. I picked it up and looked at it. I was getting a call from my mom.

"Hello?" I answered, still tired from last night.

"Your family and I were gonna go to get breakfast, would you and Pico like to come?"

"Uh.. sure mom."

"Come over to my house and we'll carpool, and please be here by 10:30." Her tone quickly changed.

"Alright mom. See you soon."

"I love you baby! See you soon!"

As soon as the call ended I got up and woke Pico up. "Come on, we have to get up."

"Ugh.. 10 more minutes.."

"WE'RE LATE!" I screamed in his ear. He immediately sat up and stared at me. He blinked at me a couple times before getting up.

"Ugh.." I slammed his head into his pillow and then looked up. After sitting there for a while he finally got up.

"We have to be at my mom's house in 30 minutes." I grabbed some clothes from my suitcase.

"Alright.." he started looking for clothes.

I walked into the bathroom and quickly changed. I decided to wear a black turtle neck with camo sweats. I stepped into the main part of the hotel room and saw Pico putting his stuff together, already changed into new clothes. He had on one of his green sweaters with jeans and a leather jacket.

"You almost ready?" I smiled as I put the hat on my head.

"Yep! Let's go." He finished up and walked with me to the front door.

We got into the car and drove to my mom's house. It was just silence between the two of us, he was on his phone and I was driving.

I drove into the driveway and got out. Pico followed behind me as I went to knock on the door. I expecting my mom, but the door opened up amd revealed Miku.

"Big sis!"

"Little bro!" We hugged each other.

I walked inside the house and saw my mom and my siblings sitting around the couch.

"Damn, you gotta big family.." Pico whispered to me. I hummed quietly in response.

I watched as my mom got up to greet Pico.

"This is Keith's family, we've got Kaity and Miku and Ritz is on his way."

I turned around to look at Pico, who had his hands in his pockets and looked carefree.

"Who's this Keith?" Kaity looked over at us, glaring at Pico.

"This is Pico!" I introduced them all to him and he waved in response.

"I thought it was just going to be family and dad's friends, mom."

"He's only here for Thanksgiving, sweetheart!" She had a bright smile. I expected her to be upset and moody, but I guess she can put on a smile even after her husband died. "Besides, you can't get mad at Keith just because you couldn't invite your boyfriend."

"You got a boyfriend Kaity?" Miku asked, perking up.

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"

"Nothing! Just asking."

As soon as we both sat down and Pico started talking to my sisters, the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" I got up and walked to the door. I looked down at my brother, Ritz.

"Hey Keith. Nice to see ya." He said as I let him in.

"Hey bro!" I sat back down and Pico stared at me.

"Your brother is a.. rat?" He whispered to me.

"Adopted." I hummed back, pulling out my phone. He still looked at me as if I was insane for a while, but he eventually snapped out of it. My family talked with Pico and I for a while before Kaity interupted me.

"Hey Keith?"

"Yeah?"

"Where's Girlfriend?" She was making fun of me.

"What do you think, smartass?" I rolled my eyes.

"Watch your language, Keith." She stuck out her tongue.

"Not until you stop being a bitch!"

"Keith!" My mom yelled.

"Sorry.." I rolled my eyes.

"You guys can't even spend 30 minutes without arguing!" She crossed her arms.

"She started it!" I pointed at her. "She made fun of me!

"Kaity.."

"I'm just happy he broke up with that dollar store Kim Kardashian." She crossed her arms and Pico snickered behind me.

"Kaity! What did I say? He just broke up with her and is still-"

"Mom, don't worry about it." I interjected, "I'm done with her anyways."

I felt Pico place his hand on my shoulder and I turned around to look at him. He was giving me a reasuring smile and I returned a smile back to him.

Kaity opened her mouth to say something about Pico but my mom quickly spoke up. "We should get going, our reservation is at 11:10."

Sorry that this chapter was so short, I had to do the next chapter in Picos's pov so I cut this one down, but there was a lot of dialogue. Also don't ask why I'm up so late...? Early? Whatever.
