The silence in the office was off putting. Steves eyes were burning with exhaustion. Watching the same video over and over from their body cams. Nothing made sense. Camera cut off, coms shut off, and the tracker in the camera all stopped at the same time. Absolutely nothing made sense. It was supposed to be a simple OP yet two of his best friends are missing. "Your thoughts are very loud." Exclaims Wanda.
"What are you doing?"
"I think the question is what are YOU doing." She replies.
"Is the dreams still happening? Do I need to call Banner?" Steve leans back in the chair propping his feet up on the desk with his hands behind his head. "No, no, I'm fine. But you how ever are not." She sits down beside him in the opposing office chair, "You know she needs help right. Not talking to her or telling her anything is hurting her. She's only had one full nights of rest thanks to Peter." Steve leans forward in his chair, feet back on the ground. "Wait the spider boy has been here?" He asks.

"See if you would move out of that chair more often you'd realize he's been here many of times. My sister- I mean Nicola has put a ton of trust in him. She thinks he knows the little that she's told him and her best friend doesn't even know why she isn't acting the same." Steve was silent. Diligent even before he spoke. "Where is she? What should I even tell her?" Wanda leans forward in her seat and replies, "What you think she needs to hear." He nods his head at her and stands up quickly walking out of the room into the bare walls of the hallways leading to Nicolas room.

And Nicola? She is sitting out of the window of her bathroom staring at the sun set lower. Her phone is silent and the crickets are chirping away. Steve walks in and sees an empty room. He sees the bathroom door wide open and walks in quickly to see a peaceful sight of Nicola swinging her legs out the window and her head laying against the sill. "Hey nicky." She turns around and replies "Hey Stevie." He leans against the bathroom sink, crossing his arms, staring at the floor not sure how to start up a conversation. "How's school?"
"Where is my dad?" She asks quickly.
"I'm not sure." He replies. "Look i-"
"No. I want the truth."
"Nicky if I knew I would tell you. You will be the first person to know once we find them." He stares at her with sadness. He can't imagine how fast her mind is running. "Can you at least tell me what this building is we are in? And why is Peter the only friend allowed to come in?" She asks in frustration. "It's called a safe house. He's only allowed in because I was told you let him sneak in. No one else is allowed in, okay? It's crucial to your safety. I don't need it corrupted because if something happens to you I couldn't forgive my self."

Nicola sits there silently almost guilty that she snuck him in. "Okay. I won't let anyone else know. Just promise me this will be over soon?"
"I'll try to keep my promise," he walks over with his arms wide open, "I love you so much Nicola." She gives him the first hug he's had since Bucky and Natasha went missing. " I love you too Steve. Do me a favor and talk to Jasmine. She misses you." He smiles and looks out the window to a swinging Spider-Man in the woods. "I wonder what it feels like to be him. To just swing around and feel the air around you." Nicola comments.
"Very cold." Steve replies. "Do you have all your school work done? We can go eat ice cream in the kitchen." The sound of the door opening has them exit out of the bathroom and see a very be  disgruntled Peter Parker. "I didn't see you come up the drive way." Says Nicola.
"Is your phone dead? I tried calling thank god Happy happened to be there or else that would have been a long walk."
"Smooth" Steve mouths to him. "Well you kids have fun doing what ever you guys do. I'll be in my office."
"DON'T FORGET TO TALK TO JASMINE!"

The two teens lay against the beds head board almost bored out of their minds. Both avoiding home work and other two friends. Ones exhausted and the other is mentally drained. "I could take a nap right now." Peter says as he sinks down finding his head on a pillow. "Do it." Nicola says a little bit too fast. "I'm here to see you not the back of my eyeballs Nicola."
"Not if I join you."
"Um, what?" Peter asks shockingly. "Ya know take a nap too." Nic responds.
"Oh yeah that."
The silence in the air crisp-ins with the lack of speaking coming out of each other's mouths. "Can you tell me what's been bugging you lately?" Nicola asks. She lays her head down next to him looking at him awaiting an answer. "Life has been busy and exhausting that's all. School, home work, internship, it's just catching up to me that's all." He continues to stare at the ceiling as if not looking at her will tell her the real problem.

"You should be at home resting then and relaxing not for me to bug you." He twists over on his side fast looking directly at her, "Absolutely not. This, with you, is where I'm the most relaxed, oddly." She moves to lay on her side as well facing him a few inches away. "Then stay as long as you'd like. Right here. Just me and you."
"Yeah just me and you." Peter repeats back.

The two teens were startled when they were awoken by Happy Hogan him self, ready to take Nicola to school. Typically she isn't late and was not notified prior of not needing a ride, how ever he is on a tight schedule. "Now, I'm not Tony but I feel like if I was him this would not be the sight to see." The sight to see, how ever, would be the two closer than ever from their slumber. The begungled faces and fast moving of grabbing their things got a good laugh out of Happy.

How ever the reactions from their best friends walking into first class late was a little off. MJ's being entirely confused and Ned's having his typical go happy goofy smile thinking he got lucky with Peters messy hair, when it reality he just moved a lot in his sleep and didn't have time to fix it.
After a couple periods later, just before lunch, the class was buzzing while doing partner work. Peter working with a boy named Jake and Nicola working with a girl name Bri. How ever Peter was not in his A game. His thoughts were how nice it'd be to be asleep in bed with Nicola again. What snapped him out of it was the immediate shattering of the glass window outside and an alarm going off. The class severely confused, and Peter taking Nicolas hand immediately once the random smoke arises along with the screams.
