Shay's Point Of View:

Not long after the airplane landed safely, Shay found herself in a completely different county, she breathed in the different air once she got off the plane; both the air and ground felt completely different as if she were in a whole different world. It felt fresh and new as if she were starting a new chapter a clean new page in her book of life.

She nonchalantly lifted her hand calling a cab over; luckily there were cabs around the airport ready for departure. She got in the cab telling the driver her location; she wanted to book herself into the hotel her friends recommended her, it wasn't an expensive hotel but it was the most recommended one with a high review of four stars. "Star Dusk Hotel" the driver was a tall man from what she could tell, his skin was dark as well as his eyes, she took one glance at the man before her eyes were glued to the outside scenery.

The drive was an hour long and within the hour she endured the local radio station that had the news and pop music her driver didn't speak he was a quiet man, no words were needed to be exchanged he knew as an airport driver that flights were tiring and mostly ended with jet lag. Shay arrived at Star Dusk Hotel; it was decorated in an island-style resort rather than a modern hotel it was big, bigger than what she originally thought it would be, some areas of the wall were covered in vines that had a different shade of leaves making it look more eye-catching.

A few people were outside in bathrobes and casual attire fully taking in their holiday. Shay had gotten to the top level of the hotel's balcony gazing over all the people before she was about to leave a certain ginger-haired man had caught her eye. The man from before appeared below slightly shocked that he had ended up in the same place she did, she raised her glasses to see if perhaps she was mistaking him for someone else or that her eyes were playing tricks on her, but she wasn't it was him.

His head tilted upwards their eyes met for a few seconds before he smiled and waved at her awkwardly not sure if he came off as creepy or friendly. For all the right reasons he came off as friendly to her, Shay too smiled and waved at him with her glasses in hand.

She watched him walk up towards the doors of the hotel probably to greet her, she anticipated him to meet her where she was but after what seemed like three minutes of her waiting he never showed up. She sighed knowing maybe her mind was playing tricks on her; the words her friends had told her before she left ran through her mind "You should start loving again" "Give this a try" "Everyone's got baggage" "What's the harm?" she brushed those thoughts off as she made her way down the balcony.

"Hey, there" Shay's eyes were greeted by the ginger-haired man; she was surprised he was standing in front of her; was he waiting down here for me? she thought as she smiled at him "Hello" he smiled back "I'm sorry I didn't come up to say hi, I thought maybe you would have found me creepy if I did that" Shay laughed at him "No, not at all" Shay extended her hand out for him to shake "I'm Shay," she said the ginger-haired man took her hand without hesitation "I'm James it's a pleasure to meet you" he's smile made Shay's heart flutter in a way that she had forgotten but she brushed it as if it were nothing.

James scratched the back of his neck feeling all kinds of nerves "Would you like to have lunch; unless you already had" "I'd love to" Shay smiled at him again seeing his nervousness turn into excitement "Alight I will meet you here once we're done unpacking say an hour or two?" "Sounds perfect" Shay smiled before waving to James, he returned the friendly gesture as they both walked away to their separate rooms.
