'A date. Jay says he's taking me on a date. Am I dreaming? Can I just not wake up?'

"Baby?", Jay's deep voice penetrated my trance, causing me to look up at him in a daze. "Are you alright? Am I moving too fast?", he asked. "Do you not want to go?"
"No! I mean yes! I mean I..." Jay chuckled softly, his breath gently blowing onto Alexander's face, causing a pleasant shiver down his spine. "lets go".

Alexander's POV

After getting dressed and heading to the car, we were on our way to our date. Date

I feel butterflies every time I think of that word, I can't believe he wants to go on a date with me. I mean, no one has ever wanted to go on a date with me before. Especially someone like him wouldn't even so much as look in my direction. After all, he's so handsome with his perfect features and those solid muscles and that deep voice that's just so sexy...

'Focus Alex focus! Stop drooling over him, you need to leave a good impression on this date!'

That's right I have never been on a date with anyone before. 'What happens on a date? Are there rules? Is there a code? What should I eat? Where will we go? ...wait, where are we going?'

I looked up at Jay, just for my eyes to be met with his wonderfully sculpted side face with a look of absolute focus and concentration. All of a sudden, I felt nervous. He looks so mature. With this air of authority around him, compared to him, I'm not something to look at. In a crowd of a hundred, I would perfectly blend in with the background, while his sunny handsome and overwhelming air would stand out without even trying. Even if I could garner the most minimal of attention, once my body riddled with marks and scars are exposed, everyone would retreat in contempt and disgust.

No POV

Alexander lowered his eyes, his mustered courage to stimulate conversation evaporated like a punctured balloon. His right hand clenched tightly on his left wrist, a sign he unconsciously does when he's insecure. He turned his head to look out the car window, watching the scenery outside. In his eyes, he sees the trough of people living happy and contented lives, whether with school, jobs, family or friends. To him, no one else is like him. A child with a broken home and shattered family, powerless to the violence he faces every day. Whether at school or home, everything is the same. If not facing a violent parent, it's facing a violent bully. Even if sometimes it's not physical. But then, he wonders if he's really a freak because compared to the sneers, mocking's and rejections he faces every day, he would much rather get hit.

Realising that the mood was getting low, he decided to talk to Jay, even if it was just to fill the silence. Still staring out the window, he says, "Where are we going for our...", He paused unnaturally, unable to say the last word. He quickly glanced at the man beside him from the corner of his eyes. "Going for our what?", Jay asked teasingly. Alexanders' ears flushed a pink color, and he he shifted in the seat, fidgeting with his hands.

A wicked smile curled up on Jay's lips, and his eyes flashed a brief light. "Baby?", Jay stretched bewitchingly. The pink of his ears turned a deep red and a red color spread on Alexander's cheeks, brushing his face in a seductive light. Jay licked his lips, his hands tightening on the steering wheel of the car.

Alexander didn't know why, he just felt like the heating in the car went up. He cleared his throat and shifted slightly, but then saw Jay's reflection on the car window. The car had stopped at a red light, and Jay had immediately turned his attention on him. His eyes were fixed, staring at him as if waiting for his response. Alexander didn't know why, but he felt like how a prey would feel when faced with a hunter. Powerless to escape the trap set, but strugglingly trying all the same.
