Everything was perfect. From the guest list to the decorations. The wedding of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham was about to be one of the biggest weddings in Music history. There has never been a stronger love affair than the one between these two lovers.
Stevie was in charge of what colors they were going to use, she didn't want to go with a traditional wedding either; she's never been one to want to wear much white. She chose a beautiful red velvet dress with long gossamer sleeves, a white hoop skirt, and veil with beautiful red crystals attached to it; Stevie was the cover girl for all things Victorian. Absolutely breathtaking.
Her bridesmaids included Lori Nicks, Sharon Celini, and Sheryl Crow; the women that have been like sisters to Stevie and have always been there in the darkest of hours. Their dresses were a Victorian style as well that were pink and red velvet, long and flowing to match Stevie's vintage spirit. All three of them looked as if they just stepped out of a vintage catalog.
The wedding was being held outside at Stevie and now Lindsey's home in Arizona. The trees were covered in small crystal lights so in the evening they would light up to glow, there were about ten tables set up randomly through out the backyard with beautiful champagne tablecovers; the trim had black lace. Each table had a floating candle display and red rose pettles scattered sparingly.
A red carpet led to the wedding arch that was filled with red and white roses, two small white doves hung from the middle representing the bride and groom; Stevie planned it all carefully and perfectly. She dreamed of this day and all of the years daydreaming about it finally paid off."Gosh, I'm so nervous," Stevie said as she watched her bridesmaids place small white flowers in her hair.
"Don't be, this is going to be magnificent," Lori implied, "You are going to be marrying the love of your life, it's going to be a fairytale wedding."
"Yes, I agree. I have been waiting for the two of you to finally get your sh!t together," Sheryl laughed.
Sharon rubbed Stevie's shoulders, "You'll be the most beautiful bride ever."
All of their words were sentimental to Stevie and she bit her lip to keep from crying, just what she needed, to ruin her beautiful eye make up before the ceremony, "I couldn't ask for a better group of ladies, thank you so much for always being there for me and here with me today."
"We wouldn't miss it for the world," Lori gestured.
At the other side of the house, Lindsey, was also getting ready. It didn't take him long to put himself together since all he had was a suit to throw on. He stared out the window at all the guests lingering and taking their seats, there was only twenty minutes left until he was no longer a bachelor; funny how he was getting last minute jitters. No way would he pull out of this though, he was going to make Stevie that happiest she's ever been; it only made sense to both of them that they should be together since having their son brought them a new found respect.
Lindsey chose his brother, Jeff, as his best man; the closest person in his life and the one that always told him that he had to snag Stevie before it was too late."Hey, man," Jeff said as he entered the room where Lindsey was hiding.
"Hey, brother; how's it going?" Lindsey asked as he gave Jeff a quick hug.
"I just came in to share a shot with you before your big moment, are you ready?" Jeff asked as he poured both of them a shot of tequila.
They swallowed their shots and Lindsey shook his hand, "I'm ready but scared at the same time. Stevie and I have been through hell and I'm always afraid we could end up hating each other again. I can only imagine what a horrible marriage that would make."
"Man, I don't know why you're thinking about things like this; Stevie is definitely your lady. I don't care how many times you've fought or been p!ssed off at each other, you still end up back in each other's arms. That's what you have to think about. If there's rocky parts, they'll pass; they always do. Plus having little Jess, that little boy has brought the two of you even more together. You can't tell me that he's not part of the reason you're both tying the knot today."
