Lindsey sat at the edge of the stage, the rehearsal had never been finished that day; no one told him the reason on WHY but just that Stevie wasn't "feeling well," Lindsey didn't buy that thoug, he knew that there was more going on -- more that was serious; he knew it was about him too, it was only obvious.
Stevie sat back in her dressing room with Christine, talking about what she had been feeling since the band took a split for that short while, how at the most random time, Lindsey would be on her mind, no other man would ever do for her; she would never be touched in the right way, kissed, made love to. It was always Lindsey, everything was always perfect when they were together, no other man would ever meet up to Stevie's expectations; Lindsey had it all. No other man could beat him out or compare, there was always feeling put in to their intimate times together; those times were the only times when Stevie felt beautiful, whole, and like a woman.
Christine kept explaining to Stevie that she has to tell him how she feels, even though she would be embarrassed about it and be the one to say "I was wrong, I DO love you," Stevie had to do it..
Lindsey was growing more and more concerned about Stevie, about what was happening between them; it was as if it was Rumours all over again -- not knowing if they should be together or not, he knew that they did though but what would that do to his girlfriend? Well Kristen Messner wasn't exactly his girlfriend but they had been seeing each other off and on for company and Lindsey could tell that Kristen was in love with him, it was just; was he in love with her?
She glanced at Lindsey from the side of the stage, she could tell that he had a lot of things on his mind just how he was sitting; Stevie could always tell what he was feeling by his posture.
He felt someone's eyes on him and he turned to find Stevie hiding in the shadows at the side of the stage, he began to stand and then she finally showed her face; Stevie took slow steps towards him.
God, she's beautiful, what is wrong with me? How can I not love her? "Hi."
Stevie smiled slightly, "Hi."
"Are you okay?"
She looks down, shaking her head, "No."
He grows extremely concerned, placing his hands on her shoulders, "What's wrong?"
Stevie sighed and closed her eyes, she was tingling all over; how was that possible? "I..." Dammit Stevie, just tell him!
"Please Stevie, don't hide whatever this is; tell me."
Finally, she looked up in to his eyes, "I was wrong."
"Wrong?"
"Wrong about...about my feelings, about you, me...Everything..."
Here we go, "What do you mean?"
"C'mon, Lindsey!" Wait, don't yell at him; don't be this way Stevie, "I'm sorry..."
"Stevie, this is driving me crazy, tell me; please."
You can do this Stevie, you can tell him everything; you're strong -- be strong! "The way I feel...about you..."
He cups her face, "How do you feel?" Please tell me that you love me.
"I..." her lip quivered, "I...love you."
Oh, God, YES! "Yeah?"
"Oh Lindsey don't play that game with me! Yes!"
He smiled, moving his hands down her back now; pressing her to his chest, "I love you...too."
You did it, Stevie you did it, she was so proud of herself, "If I knew any better, I would think I'm in a dream."
Lindsey backed up and looked down in to her eyes, "I've longed to hear those words, longed too long," he laughed.
"I wouldn't have said anything if it wasn't for Chris."
"What do you mean?"
"Christine was the first one to find out how I was truly feeling, how I was...wanting you back, she told me that I had to tell you; had to tell you before it was too late."
"Too late for what?" he ran a hand across her face.
"For us."
He smiled, "It will never be too late for us," he pulled her to him again.
I feel so safe, oh Lindsey, I love you, "This is going to show, Lindsey, show throughout this tour...I don't know if this was a good idea, I mean --"
"Shhh..." he placed a finger across her lips, "It is NOT a mistake, don't ever say that."
Stevie placed her hands on his chest, "I didn't think that things would end up like this again, that we would still have this strong bond; who are we kidding Lindsey?"
"Ourselves, I think it's always been us; our problem and we have to deal with it on our own. Who cares what other people think, this is our lives and our love; no one can EVER take that away."
At that very moment, Stevie had never loved him as much as now, "That was beautiful."
Lindsey chuckled and closed the gap between them, "We're not going to keep this just...platonic, are we?"
"What are you implying?" Stevie ran a finger up and down his chest.
"I mean, is this going to be a real relationship or...just --"
"I want it to be deep Lindsey, I'm at that age now where its time; time that I've grown up and realized that I can't be without you."
"Same here, I can't be without you either."
Then they were kissing, they didn't know how it happened but they were; their hands tangling in each other's hair and pressing their lower bodies against each other -- they had to draw the line though, Stevie was the one to always play referee; she pulled his hand away as he reached up to grab her breast, looking up at him and shaking her finger.
Lindsey smiled, kissing the tip of her finger; Stevie giggled and wrapped her arms around him.
You were wrong Lindsey, this tour WON'T be hell.
