[Niela]

I didn't think I'd ever be this happy to see the hospital wing. Its walls were painted in a comfortable off-white, unlike the House of Full Moon.
I stretched out my arms and immediately regretted it - I was sore as hell.

"Don't move", someone mumbled.

I looked down to see who was laying beside me. Come to think of it, there was an arm on my stomach.

Good Gods.

Don't panic, I told myself.

Carefully, I lifted the blanket. Draco was sleeping next to me, his arms wrapped around my stomach.

"Hey", I said. "You awake?"
Draco mumbled a no.

I watched him fall asleep again. He must've been tired, too. His chest slowly rose and sank in an irregular rhythm. I lifted one finger and drew a line, from his hair over his forehead, tracing one eye, then the other, all the way down to his mouth.
He was here, for real this time. It wasn't a trick by some murderous prince, or my eyes longing to see someone who wasn't there. It wasn't a dream either.
He was here, and he wasn't going anywhere.

His eyes opened. My finger was still on his lips.
"What are you trying to do so early in the morning, Eletherya? Not that I mind."
I just looked at him. His grey eyes shined with amusement, bearing none of the pain they did yesterday.

"I really want to kiss you."

Draco's eyes widened in surprise. I didn't know what made me so sure, or so confident, but the moment he nodded, my lips touched his.

The warmth was soft and familiar. Our lips moved slowly, tingling each time they met. I lifted his chin to deepen the kiss. His answer felt like silk running across my mouth. I kissed him right below his ear, moved down and placed another kiss on his neck. It tickled; he laughed.

I wished I could take a picture of his face like this. So that if I ever were to leave again, I could remember the joy in his smile, the softness of his lips, the curve of his neck. I wanted to preserve this moment and frame it, somewhere near my heart.
I could feel his happiness in my veins, as he looked at me.

"I missed you, Niela."
"I missed you, too."

Madam Pomfrey checked my temperature. "Try to stay out of trouble for the next two months, dear.", she said, changing the bandages on my hands. "Sorry about that", I smiled apologetically. "I'll try." The nurse only shook her head and dismissed us with a wave.

Draco held out a hand, and I took it.

"Did you sleep well?"
I nodded. "You?"
"Yes, actually.", he smiled. He did seem somewhat well rested, though something was bothering him. It built up with every step we took; like a brick wall weighing him down. He felt uncomfortable, nervous even.

When that discomfort manifested in a sharp punch to my stomach, I stopped walking.

"Alright, tell me."

Draco frowned. "Tell what?"

"Something's been bothering you. And you don't have to tell me, but you look like you want to get it off your chest."

He half-smiled. "I can't hide anything from you, can I?"

"The downside of dating an empath", I said. Maybe he felt suffocated, being with me. I mean, I was constantly invading his privacy- intentionally or not. I could immediately pick up how he felt about things, whether he was hiding something, or nervously waiting to share his news.

"I don't think that's a bad thing, though."
I gave him a surprised look. "You don't?"
He laughed. "No, I already lie and hide from enough people, so I like that you're not one of them." Shaking his head, he added: "How can an empath be this bad at telling how I really feel?"
I smiled. "Fuck you, Malfoy."
"Gladly."
Good Gods. "Anyways, what did you want to tell me?"
