When I told Cecily and Laurel is quickly have to go to the Slytherin rooms, Laurel's first thought was that I was either seeing Zabini or Malfoy, while Cecily thought I was out of mind.

"I'm not going on a date. I just have to ask Alicia if she goes and meets Luna with me."

Laurel suspiciously raised an eyebrow. "Judging from the looks you throw each other, Alicia and you don't seem to get along. Also you could have asked Cecily and me to come with you."

Cecily nodded and added: "what do you need Alicia for that you'd go as far as inviting her even though you cannot stand her?"

"It is somewhat complicated."

"Explain", Cecily and Laurel said in unison. 

"I can't, but I will do so later. I promise." Cecily nodded, told me she understood, and then made me hurry since it was already 11:50am and I'd have to run, if Alicia still needed to be convinced.

On my way to the Slytherin rooms I met Esme. "Hey", I panted, "could you tell Alicia that I'd like to speak with her?"
Esme nodded and entered the Slytherin common room. A few minutes later, she came back along with Alicia.

"What do you want?"

"I need your help. Luna said she knew someone that could tell me - or rather us - more about the snow ruby. I don't know how she found out that I was searching for it, but she knew about me having a guardian as well, so somebody must have informed her."

"And why would I help you?"

"Because my father can be saved. And my father means a lot to your father."

Alicia seemed to weigh out the argument. Finally, she nodded, grabbed her jacked and stepped out of the common room.

I couldn't say I wasn't surprised about her actually coming with me, but I did not complain.

We passed the corridors but were stopped in front of the exit by Laurel and Cecily. What was she doing here?

Cecily's face was unreadable, while Laurel glared at Alicia. I saw Alicia gulp slightly. It didn't surprise me - Laurels glares were they type where you suddenly had the urge to rund hide.
"If you hurt Niels, you're in big trouble, dear. Got that?" Cecily nudged her with her wand as if restricting her from saying any more.
Alicia nodded.
"Great! See you at the ball - don't you dare to be late, Niela!" I smiled and nodded. Then I threw her a look saying 'was that really necessary?' Laurel grinned and stuck her tongue out. Then she walked away. Cecily laughed and added :"I couldn't stop her. Also, Alicia, unless you wish to be hexed by either me or Laurel, I would say you behave and protect Niela."

Luna was already waiting for us in front of the forbidden forest.
"Ah! You brought your guardian with you. We can get started then."
She marched straight into the forbidden forest and we followed her.

We were already walking for about thirty minutes, when Luna said : "Stop walking. We've arrived."
She kneeled down. And after a moment or two, I did the same. Luna was not the type to kneel in front of people - the creature we must be about to meet was probably someone who deserved a lot of respect. Alicia however, stood still in place, up on her feet.

"Mother Amera", Luna spoke, "we need your help."

For a moment or two, nothing happened. Then, we heard a low rustle in the bushes, somebody was approaching us.
