Is it weird that I'm looking for Lucas?

Do not get me wrong--but I haven't seen the guy all day. Our last periods just ended, and there was no sign of Lucas. It was weird, totally weird, that I'm finding him. This must be probably because of our hospital encounter wherein no one saw him except me. That, as well, was just as weird as him being gone.

Adrian had to practice since he was in the baseball team, so I'll be hitching with Sara's sister for a ride home. He texted me that he'll go straight to my house after practice and we'll have another Robert Pattinson movie marathon since there are no homeworls for the day. And yet, instead of finding Sara and go home, I was looking for Lucas.

Why was I looking for him? I don't know.

Something was just wrong about his absence. Something was wrong about not seeing his face (whether it's glum or joyful) today. Something felt wrong, that was what my brain thinks.

Or maybe I am just being paranoid. Maybe this was all because of the heart transplant, and the reason why I am looking for Lucas Harper is because he's the first one I saw after the transplant. Maybe that explains this sudden paranoia.

I spotted Sara with Rica near the main doors of the school and I walked towards them. I should just go home. I should just wait for Adrian and chill my mind. Sara waved at me, and as she did that, Rica did the same. Tracy wasn't with them, which made the situation weird, since Tracy is the one who's always giddy about going home.

"Where's Tracy?" I asked them as soon as I stopped tracks right in front of them.

Sara giggled while Rica snorted but she let out a chuckle after that. I raised one eyebrow at them, and Sara cleared her throat before answering me. "Tracy's home already. Her boyfriend gave her a ride."

That made me giggle as well. The thought of Tracy, the girl who uses swear words as a habit, the girl who can't complete a day without raising a middle finger, the girl who will be so rude to you, having a boyfriend, is the best thing ever.

Sara looked outside to check her sister, but her eyes showed no recognition. Her eyebrows furrowed and she pulled a look of disgust. "What the Tracy's-favorite-F-word," she hissed, making Rica roll her eyes. "Natasha Marine and some blonde-dyed dude with thick eyebrows are sucking each other's faces again. What a nice view."

"Stop whining," Rica groaned. "Get outside and get past them so you can see if your sister has arrived. I have to research schools who teach a good course of surgery."

Sara snorted. "If I were Tracy, I would flip you right now. But sadly, I'm not," she then looked again at the direction the snogging session that blocked the sight she's supposed to see. Sara groaned and raised her hands in surrender, but then drooped them on her sides immediately. "And you're right, Rica."

Rica smirked as Sara made her way outside the school halls. She slouched on a wall beside her and smiled at me. "How do you feel?"

Unexplainable. "Great."

Rica didn't look satisfied at my answer, as if she can see through my enthusiasm. She made a clock-like sound with her mouth while shaking her head, but after that, she forced me a smile. "If you say so, Mia." She said it like she was a teacher who knows the truth but still forces the student to say it instead. "If you say so."

I opened my mouth to speak but Rica's expression of disappointment turned into a grimace which shocked me for a bit. She opened her mouth and closed it again, before forcing her knees to meet. She closed her eyes and mumbled some words that I never thought Rica would say since they are Tracy's lines. She opened her eyes and look at me apologetically. "Mia, I'll just go to the bathroom for a while. I have to pee."
