Daniel POV

"So still okay with me taking the Eagle Fangs tomorrow?" I asked.

I had invited Johnny and Miguel, his mother, and his grandmother over for dinner. Johnny and I had come to an agreement that, tomorrow at practice, I would train the Eagle Fangs and he would train the Miyagi-Dos.

"Yeah." he responded. "I have some ideas on how to get their offense up to snuff."

"Mm-hm."

"Make sure defense doesn't turn them into cream puff."

Tomorrow was just going to be fantastic.

"I'd better not see a scratch on them." I warned.

Miguel POV

"Dude, you spilled a glass of wine. So what?" Hawk asked.

I had accidently spilled a glass of wine on Mr. LaRusso's shirt.

"You should have heard the way Mr. LaRusso was talking about Sam's future. I can't even afford a car, let alone college. What if they think I'm not good enough?"

"Dude. You're El Serpiente. You're an All-Valley Champion. You just have to show Mr. LaRusso what you're made of."

"Compared to Sensei Lawrence's training, today's training is going to be a vacation."

"Who's going on vacation?" Sensei LaRusso asked.

"Uh, no one. So, what have got for us today?"

"Come here." Mr. LaRusso beckoned us over.

"Now, I know you've been taught to strike first. But what if your opponent is faster than you?"

"Are those real koi?" Mitch asked.

He smiled and nodded. "They sure are. Today's lesson is simple. Catch a fish. But since I know you Eagle Fangs like a little bit of competition, we're going to make it interesting. So the first to succeed will have the honor of leading class all week."

We all groaned. That wasn't much of a reward.

"And you all get to pick out what flavor of Gatorade I buy next week.

"All, hell yeah! Hope you all like Glacial Freeze."

"Uh, where are the rods." I asked.

"Back in the garage. Your bare hands are all you'll use and all you will need."

"On your mark."

"Get set."

"Go!"

We started lunging at the koi, and missed, and one time, I lost my balance and fell into the water.

Daniel laughed. "Looks like you got a little wet behind the ears. Let's get you dried off."

Sam POV

"Where is he talking us?" Demetri asked.

"Nowhere good." I responded.

"I heard he drowned a kid in a pool trying to teach him how to kick, and that was before he sicced a rabid dog on Eli."

"This does not bode well."

After we reached the top of the building, we were confused on why we were here.

"What are we doing here?" I asked.

"When an eagle's hungry, it doesn't hesitate. It'll dive down at 100 miles an hour to snatch its prey. Doesn't wait for a fish to jump in its feet."
