Robby POV
I couldn't believe what I had done.
I kicked Miguel off the stairs, not knowing the consequences. I heard he was in the hospital now. I thought about visiting him, but then I decided not to, because he probably wouldn't want me to.
Police are still looking for Robby Keene, who ran away after kicking fellow student Miguel Diaz off a second-floor balcony, landing right here on this staircase.
Diaz, meanwhile, remains in a coma at West Valley General, said a reporter on a TV, since I was at a cafe. I had my hood on, so nobody would notice me and call the police, though it was probably a matter of time before somebody was suspicious.
Daniel LaRusso POV
"I'm not leaving here without an explanation. I can't believe they had the gall to suspend Sam for two weeks! I'm going to tell the school board how incompetent they are. Heads will roll." My wife, Amanda said. We were currently at the school administrator's meeting, ready to complain to the school board about what had happened.
"At least they expelled the girl who started the whole thing."
"Expelled? That bitch should be in Shawshank."
"Calm down." I spoke to her.
"'Calm down?' Everyone is against us. In case if you haven't noticed, the dealership is a ghost town."
"It's not that bad."
"Yes, it is, Daniel. Out name is poison. Turns out 'kicking the competition' isn't a cue tagline when your karate student literally kicks the competition over a railing."
I sighed.
"I'm sorry. I got us into this. And I promise, I'm gonna find a way get us out." I said.
The principal stood up and started speaking.
"People, please take your seats. Thank you all for coming. Everyone at the school board cares about our students."
"Where the hell were our teachers?" A parent called out.
Yes, where were they? I thought.
"The NEA guidelines are very clear, and it states that no teacher can get between two students fighting."
"What about that neckbeard teacher that attacked all the kids?"
"Mr. Stingray never worked here. Last we heard was that he is now on probation and not allowed within 500 feet of any child. How do we know that this isn't going to happen again? We have a new initiative called 'Hugs, not Kicks'", Counselor Blatt said. "It's like DARE except it actually works."
So, your solution is to hug kids?" I asked.
"Actually, they would hug each other." The principal responded. "What Counselor Blatt is trying to say is no more karate. Zero tolerance from here on out."
"Wait. You don't need to turn this into some kind of karate Footloose! Karate is not the problem! In fact, when I went to school here, I was bullied, and karate saved me."
"Bullshit! I heard you were the real bully!" A man called out.
"Parents, please. We are all trying to move on and handle this with the most appropriate response." The principal said, trying to calm everyone down.
Keyword trying.
"I'm sorry. Tell me how appropriate it is when our daughter got suspended while some other dimestore Freddy Kreuger nearly tore her face off."
