The ship stopped just over the edge of the cliff. The tribespeople all stared up at it in confusion and awe. None of them knew what it was or what it meant. Who were these people and what really was their intentions?
Suddenly the eternals all began slowly being let down from the ship, their eyes darting gracefully across the confused humans below them. They had nothing but good intentions, the we're here to protect the humans from deviants and ensure the successful growth of mankind on this earth.
Artemis felt her feet lightly touch the ground before she was holding up her full weight again. The eternals were lined up, evenly spaced. They walked forward slowly, wanting to get closer to the humans but not wanting to scare them.
There were a group of men in front of them, shouting threateningly towards the eternals, pointing spears up at them, ready to protect their wives and children. Druig raised his arm towards them and his eyes went a beautiful golden colour as he mentally ordered them to drop their spears.
The men dropped their spears and stood up straight, they were clearly in a daze as their blank faces peered over at the eternals, no longer threatening them or preparing themselves to put up a fight
Ajak and Sersi stood in the middle of the row of eternals and stood closer to the humans. Druig liked to stay back and observe, so Artemis often stood back with him, the eternals has only been doing this for about a year and Druig and Artemis were clearly the closest out of everyone.
Artemis watched silently as Ajak nodded her head towards Sersi who held a slightly scared look on her face before sending a curt nod back to Ajak and slowly making her way to the humans, where at the front, was the young boy that they had first rescued from the deviant.
Sersi bent down and picked up a small dagger that was made from rock and delicate material. The boy watched in shock as the dagger was suddenly turned to a gold blade with an elegant, Royal blue fabric. It was absolutely gorgeous and way more expensive than anything that any of their people has ever owned.
She reached out the dagger towards the boy, waiting for him to take the gift. The boy stated to look between Sersi and the dagger, not sure in whether or not he should take the dagger. Sersi nodded her head softly, trying her best to reassure the child.
He slowly and gently reached out his hand towards the golden weapon. And slowly but surely, the boy took the dagger out of the woman's hand. Artemis watched in awe. Sersi's power was absolutely incredible and she was ecstatic that the people of the earth were quickly accepting them and their help.
Artemis slowly began walking forward, catching the attention of both the eternals and the humans. She made her way over to the people and once more got straight into healing them, seeing that some of them were badly injured
Present day
The Amazon"Come along now, nice and quiet girls," she whispered behind her and her and the 4 young girls behind her tip toed through the large forest, each of them holding a loaded bow in their hands
They kept quiet as they brushed through the bushes and trees before Artemis stopped. The children quickly stopped walking and looked ahead, looking for the reasoning of the stop. Ahead of them was a small group of rabbits. "Like I taught you ladies. Concentrate, pull the string. Aim. Exhale and let go. Make sure your hot kills then straight away, do not make them suffer," she whispered to them.
The four girls all pulled back the strings of their bows and aimed the arrows towards a rabbit each. They did what they were instructed and a moment later, for rabbits lay dead on the ground while the rest of them were alarmed and quickly jumped away. They each went over and collected their prey.
"Come along now, let's get back." Artemis instructed them. They made their way back through the jungle, all of them staying short to make sure that nothing jumped out at them. Artemis stayed at the front, leading them back to the camp, constantly checking over her shoulder to ensure that the four girls stayed behind her and didn't wander off or get injured.
The sound of loud talking and laughing filled their ears as they got closer and closer to camp. Finally they made their way through the last few trees and emerged in camp. It was a large clearing with different shacks built for the girls to sleep in and buildings for other things.
There were multiple crop gardens and wells and about 20 girls aged from about 8 - 18 walking around getting ready for dinner. There were girls who had hunted, girls who had sorted the crops, girls who stood up in high towers to take their shifts of watching over the camp.
Artemis took in strays from villages and cities near by before bringing them back here and raising them, looking after them and teaching them to hunt and look after themselves before they transitioned into woman hood were she allowed them to go back into the world and make a proper life for themselves and settle down, find love, a job and start a family if that was what they wanted. Some for jobs and travelled the world, whatever they wanted to do, they set off to do.
"Great job out there today girls, go along and prep the rabbits and help the others, don't forget to wash your hands," she instructed them before making her way around camp to ensure that everything was running smoothly and going how it was supposed to. She made her way to the tower where the girls would stand to guard the camp, "you girls go get ready for dinner. Great work up here, I can take it from here," she told them with a kind smile
"Thanks Artemis!" The girls thanks the person whom they saw as a mother. Artemis watched as they climbed down the tower and made their way through camp, working at different stations in order to get the food prepped even quicker. She looked back out at the jungle surrounding them. It was extremely rare for an attack to occur, she had talked to many of the animals around their, and the animals were made aware that they weren't allowed to go near the camp with cruel intentions.
Many of the girls told Artemis that there wasn't really a reason for people to stand guard, but she continued to disagree. She wouldn't have been able to forgive herself if one of her girls were attacked and she could have done something to prevent it
She sat down, her legs dangling off the side and allowed her mind to wander. She couldn't help but be curious as to what Druig was doing right now. Memories of them flashed through her mind and she felt a strong ache in her chest. She missed him more than she thought she could.
She missed her family. And she couldn't help but wonder what all of them were doing at this point in time. She tried to keep her thoughts on the whole family but they kept on coming back to Druig.
She wondered if he was with someone new. Maybe he had children... a family. Did he ever think about her? Did he even care about her anymore?
Artemis let out a small sigh and looked down at the girls. A small smile was brought back onto her face. These girls were also her family and she would do anything for them. They all meant so much to her and she was proud of the women that they were becoming
