Meeting the Pack (Ryders POV)

I'd been following the woman for about five minutes and either of us had yet to break the silence. I waited another minute longer before deciding to speak up, "So, what is your name? In my head I've been calling you the white wolf, but I don't think that'll work much longer."

She spared a me a quick glance over her shoulder, "Who said you'll be with me long enough to be on a first name basis?" At first it kind of hurt, but then I saw the smirk on her face.

"Oh you know you don't want to get rid of me," I teased. "I mean, we both know you couldn't bare to part with me."

She just chuckled and shook her head, making her hair sway brushing her bottom. That's when I really took notice that we were both completely naked. I didn't care because I'm used to it with all the members of my pack, but I was surprised she didn't even try to hide. And I was also suprised she didn't get embarrassed around me, even though I see the females in my pack shift often, they still blushed when I looked at them or they looked at me.

My eyes focused in on her curves, most of the woman in my pack were quite skinny, some had curves, but none of them were as appealing as this women's. I watched as her hips swayed, her posture was incredibly straight making her look like royalty. No, she looks like a goddess. My wolf hummed. Yep, a sex goddess. Ugh, God Ryder! Keep it together!

Needing a distraction, I thought back to our conversation, and remembered she never told me her name. "Come on, you know my name," I whined, she just laughed and kept walking. "If you don't tell me I'll be forced to call you the other thing in my head," I warned playfully.

She turned to me, "Ah, and that would be.....?"

"Sex goddess...or sexy, whichever you prefer. But don't think I'll hesitate to call you either." She glared at me, but I could see the blush in her cheeks.

"Avery," she said turning around and continuing forward.

"Nice to meet you Avery," I said smiling to myself.

"We're almost there, don't say anything rude, they actually are intelligent and will rip your face off," she said it as if she was commenting on the damn weather. She changes the mood in a conversation so easily.

As she said that, she stepped through a thinner spot in the bush, disappearing from my view. I moved over to the space she went through, moving my hands up to part the branches and stepping through.

What I saw amazed me. Avery was standing in a clearing surrounded by wolves.
They were ordinary, but they were huge. And they were all fighting to be closest to her.

As soon as I was all the way in the clearing, their heads snapped in my direction and they collectively started growling. I took a few steps back. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not weak, but I know when I'm outnumbered. And I also knew that this was going to be a losing battle if I tried to take them on. I turned to Avery for help, but she just chuckled and shrugged. Traitor

Right when I saw the first few readying themselves to attack, Avery took a step forward, "Now now boys, is that anyway to treat a guest?" Immediately, they all backed down and sat on their haunches watching me. "Sorry about that, they've always been really protective over me."

"No, I understand, they're your pack, they live to protect. And same for you, you're their alpha female," I told her.

"Yeah, I guess. Anyway, do you want to rinse off? You're sorta covered in mud from earlier," she replied with a smirk.

I looked down at my body, and sure enough I saw it covered in mud and leaves. "Uh, yeah that sounds like a good idea. I can smell a stream near by," I said tilting my head up and bit, inhaling. "Wait. No, I smell a river." I turned to see her practically bouncing in place.

"Yeah, there's a waterfall and everything! C'mon I'll show you!" She said sounding like a little kid. While I was lost in thought thinking about this new side of her, she shifted and started to walk off. I watched as every single wolf, big and small, began trailing after her. Not wanting to waste anymore time, I shifted, jogging to catch up to her.

After about a three minute walk, we arrived at our destination. It was another clearing, but this time there was a huge waterfall.  Without a second thought Avery took off sprinting toward the edge of the thirty foot drop. She shifted in mid air, entering the water in a perfect dive. Not long after her head popped up once again. "The water's great guys!" She cheered, and the other wolves took off after her. A few jumped off where she did, but most of the pups went down to the bottom and got in there.

I started sprinting to the edge also repeating her little trick, landing in the water in a dive. I haven't gone swimming in about a year. This should be fun.

(A/N) I'll be updating a lot more frequently because I'm on summer break at the moment and finally have time.

Also, the chapters will be longer than they were before, starting with the next chapter, sorry about  that by the way. I'm doing this all on my phone, and of course I have to own the stupidest (Is that a word? Yes, it is now)  phone in the world.
